HELP! 6wks & Brown discharge

Okay so I'm trying not to panic - I'm 6wks and I'm 35 yrs old - this is my first pregnancy and I'm bout to lose my mind!

I had a pinkish discharge at 5.5wks and now it's turned brown. It seems to me I'm just leaking all the time ( I've heard to invest in panty liners) I just want to be sure nothing is wrong here...

any other M2B (mommies to be) experiencing this or had this happen?? I'm so terrified I am going to miscarry.... Thanks ahead of time. -RW

Brown is OK.  If it is bright red, enough to fill a pad and/or accompanied by strong cramps, then it's time to go to the doctor.

I had that exactly excessive discharge and continue to wipe brown! It's old blood! Just watch for bright red blood and bad cramping! Otherwise just relax and enjoy the roller coaster; btw congrats

Brown usually means no worry. Call the doctor just to let them know. It is usually old blood. My friend had this and they told her just to take it easy and no sex.

I had it at week 4 and week 5. I turn 30 this week. Second pregnancy, 8 yrs apart. I was terrified with the spotting, this did not happen with my 1st pregnancy. I went in to my doc at 4 Weeks had a sono went back for another at 5 Weeks and had blood work done. Everything was perfect. Doc said it was implantation bleeding could be caused from intercourse. It lasted longer because I had a vaginal sono that irritated me more!
Rest, stay off your feet, don't stress go to the doc tomorrow.

I had the same thing and everything was totally fine. Doctor said brown is not usually a problem.

I spotted brown and a little pink for 6 days and was ok. I hope you have good news with your next doctor visit.

Ladies — I just wanted to update you all on what the "Brown Discharge" was for me. This is hard. Sadly my husband and I ended up in the ER and it was the beginning of my miscarrage yesterday and I can't even explain how I feel right now...I am utterly numb and a tsunami of emotion.

PLEASE ASK DR QUESTIONS IF YOU ARE CONCERNED! I waited 7 days till I said something — whose to say if something could of been done to save my pregnancy — but I do know that waiting isn't the answer. Learn from me and call with any concern, no matter how little — it could just save your child's life.

 

I ask you to keep me and my husband Matthew in your thoughts, if you can. We will try again — when the time is right.

I'm really sorry to read your update but if it helps you at all (because I sense you have a lot of guilt over waiting), your doctor most likely would have told you what everyone here did.  It's rare that a doctor will bring you in for some brown spotting so try hard not to beat yourself up over not calling.  GL.
