Skip Hop Bento Bag?

Does anyone have any experience with this bag?  We registered for it but it seems like total overkill with the food container area.  Should I just go ahead and do the Duo?  By the way, I started this second post so as not to hijack another posting.  I realize there is a similar one just a bi further down the page.  Thanks in advance for your advice.

We have this. It's DH's diaper bag and the one we keep in the car. It's not my favorite, but he loves it for the reason I don't. All the pockets! I prefer one big cavern in my diaper bag. He likes keeping everything organized and separated.

The food compartment feature sounds awesome, but to be honest, we've had a full year with this bag and we haven't used that compartment yet. But then again, we don't take a lot of day trips and bring a bunch of food along, which is how I imagine you could really get use out of it. We only take 1 or 2 of her snacks with us when we go out, so it doesn't really require the separate food section. I love the actual bento boxes though. I use those daily and bought extra.

I am looking at this diaper bag too.  It looks huge, but that can be a good thing for day trips or keeping everything in one place.  I am a FTM and I will probably go with it.  I like the look and all the pockets for storage.  I have a small bag that I use everyday now, so if its too big for an everyday diaper bag, I will just use my small one.  I would love to hear what other moms think of this bag.  Thanks for posting!

I'm wondering about this bag, too. I am registered for the Duo, but like the size and the looks of the Bento. One thing I have heard (or read from the reviews on Amazon) is that it tips over often. Can anyone offer their experience on that???

It definitely does not have a wide base, so yes if it's heavy on one side, it will tip. I can't imagine that being a real problem though. How often are you going to put your bag down in the middle of the floor and need it to stay upright? Just prop it up on a wall.

I have the Bento and love it!  It may be a little overkill for 1 baby if you are a light packer, but it's definitely great for 2 kids.  I used the Skip Hop Dash with my first LO and that was way too small (I must pack a lot), so if I had to do it over again I personally would have gotten the Bento from the beginning.

Here are my thoughts on it:

- Love all the pockets.  It's really easy to find everything.  The Dash was pretty much one big compartment and I hated having to dig through it to find stuff.
- We cloth diaper, so with 2 kids in diapers this size of bag is a must and it really wouldn't be overkill for 1 kid in cloth diapers.
- Love the shuttle clips to attach it to the stroller.  We use these all the time.
- Love that there are two outer side pockets for bottles/sippy cups to keep them separate and easy to grab.
- I think the food container area is great.  In the Dash I would have to put everything (diaper supplies and food) together in the main compartment.  Felt kinda gross about doing that!  Right now my older LO eats regular food at restaurants, so we only need to use those compartments for snacks for her.  However, I know when DS starts eating solid foods we'll be bringing purees and such with us so we'll be getting more use out of them then for sure.
- Love that there's an additional zippered compartment at top (besides the main one).  We use this for food supplies like spoons and bibs.
- Yes, the bag is a bit lopsided and will tip, but it's easy enough to lean it up against something.  Definitely not a deal breaker.

So yeah, if you are a big packer, like pockets, want food & diapers separate, want to plan ahead for 2 kids eventually, or cloth diaper, then this bag could be for you.  :)

Yes, thank you for the great and thorough feedback.  I think I will keep this one and also get a smaller one for shorter trips.

I like keeping things organized as well. I use this bag when I am going out for longer periods of time (like the whole day). It's not as big on the inside pocket as I would like, but the compartments allow me to use just one bag for things baby needs and my pump. I use the bag that came with my pump for shorter outings. I have yet to use the bottom for food. I did figure out that one of DS's fleece blankets fits well folded up and have used it to bring an extra blanket along with us.
