These cats are annoying me!!

So this morning I woke up a little before 5 am to meowing. Then I couldn't get back to sleep. Before this pregnancy I was a really deep sleeper and I would sleep through them crying no matter what. Also before I was pregnant the cats use to be quiet until our alarms went off at 630 am. Now I think they know that I am pregnant and they are just doing this to be jerks. Do any of you have cats? If so are they doing things differently now that you are pregnant?

I have two cats.  They both meow over the course of the night (one meows when he's bored around 2am or so, and the other when she's hungry around 5:30am).  Do you sleep with your bedroom door open?  We sleep with ours closed, and we have a fan on for white noise, and that usually helps.  FI gets up at 5am and I get up at 6.  Sometimes I can hear the meowing after FI gets up, but it's not so loud that I can't get back to sleep.

I've noticed my cats being more affectionate over the last few days.  I read somewhere that animals are very perceptive to hormonal changes in a person's body, so I'm sure that has something to do with it.

I hope you can find something that helps you sleep! Good luck.

Not sure where you are from so this may not apply.
With the time change, setting the clock back an hour, to the cats it was really 6. Closer to their normal meow time.
Hopefully they adjust and you get back to being able to sleep!!

Mine doesn't meow at night but he loves to sleep ON me. Which I normally find adorable, but with the MS that i'm having, its not so pleasant. lol. I had to move him off my tummy twice last night.

I have three cats and they all sleep with us. The only vocal one wakes us up at 5am because that's when the DH gets up for work (and feeds them). With the time change she's a bit confused and hasn't bothered us. She always sleeps at my feet or side (she's the dog-cat) or on the floor next to me.

Two of the cats used to like to sleep on my belly, but ever since I became pregnant they have been avoiding that area. One will sleep at my side or feet and the other will sleep on the side or floor.

They have all been increasingly cuddly, but give me plenty of space at bedtime.

My cats are pretty chill, but my greyhound! I swear he is the loviest, snuggliest... most annoying 75 pound lap dog around :) He was the same way when I was pregnant with DS, he's just my snuggle bug. I can't be mad about that.

Please forgive my typos! I'm not as dumb as my iphone would like you to believe :)

My cat's favorite place to sleep now is either on top of my bladder or right at my feet, both of which cause me to wake up a million times a night.

Thanks for the replies. We sleep with our door closed, since I refuse to allow cats in the bedroom. I was super sleepy when I wrote this. They are good kitties and I know they love us. I just wish that they would reserve the meowing until 6am.
