We may have a donor...

I haven't posted in a bit because I simply haven't had any updates lately, as we are on the waiting list with our RE's practice for donor embryos. Last Friday was my 3-months on the list mark, we were told back in August that it could be 6-12 months before we hear anything, but my RE welcomed me checking in whenever I wanted. So as not to be too much of a pest, I check in with her monthly at the start of every month. Last Friday, I send her my "time to be a pest to Dr. G" email (she gets a kick out of my dry humor, and some of our insane stories during our IF journey - i.e. doctor's office with a dead fish on the receptionist's desk, and her trying to convince me it wasn't dead when I told her it was. Trust me, it was dead, and we didn't go back to that office ever again!). She wrote back that she'd check and get back to me. Today, I come into the office, forgetting that I sent the email from my work email, and received this response from her:

"Someone just donated, will know more soon."

OMG, are you kidding me?! This is a great way to start my Monday, after such an awful week last week for my family from the impact of Hurricane Sandy (my cousin, his wife and 3-week old lost everything on the south shore of LI, and my aunt and cousin are still without power, thankfully my parents do have power so they've been housing everyone).

Please send good vibes if you can spare a few. Good luck and best wishes everyone!

Thanks so much for your support and good vibes, we are so hopeful. But even to know that we are up there at the top of the list is great news, I thought there would have been more people ahead of us still. They will not disclose how many people are ahead of you on the list, but if she's telling us this, we must be at the top or one couple back. Fingers crossed, and toes too!

popping over from ttc35+....

Wow Jen that's awesome!! I can't believe your clinic has a 6-12 month wait! Mine has a 6 month wait and I just got on the list last week and I thought that was bad...haaha. Fingers crossed for you! I'm going to try not to call every month since I was a pain when waiting 6 months to retake my mamm :)

Sorry about your family dealing with Sandy and I'm glad your parent's are able to help. GL to you.

Good luck to you as well! When we first got on the list I asked "how long" she said, it's hard to say, it could be 6 months, it could be up to 12 months, but you could also hear sooner. Looks like we're on the "sooner" timeframe, hopefully! I think we have every crossable appendage crossed at this point Wink

Selfish me is hoping some ladies back out so I can get on the list sooner...lol. We are also doing a "shared" cycle so that also weighs into the wait.
