Last pregnancy I had to become my own advocate. (My mother had severe preeclampsia which they called toxemia with all 3 children. I was born at 26 weeks, my sister at 29 and the child between the two of us passed on) I bought the strips to test for protein in the urine from my pharmacy and I blood pressure monitor. I have really good blood pressure. I went from at 12 weeks 110/60 to the last month of my pregnancy 148/98. It wasn't in the critical range they told me. So my doctor pretty much ignored my concerns. It finally came down to 3 weeks before my sons due date and I was having vision changes. The hospital and on call doctor sent me in immediately, I was induced within a few hours. This time around I switched clinics and am being closely monitored with a urine test every visit and charting of BP. I don't have great advice for you, besides you know your own body. If you have concerns call and demand a call back. Make them explain and relieve your concerns. I have learned not to feel guilty about this with my new clinic. My questions are answered within 24 hours.
