No im 20 and i haven't had a reason to, my dr said for someone like me it wouldnt be necessary until 21..but now im pregnant so they have to.
I see. I guess I just assumed that most women would have gone for birth control by this point.
As for the pap smear itself, it is a little uncomfortable. You can ask the OB to use the smaller speculum on you to help with that discomfort. They will use a long q-tip to scrape your cervix to test for abnormal cells. You will likely have a little light pink spotting afterward. Overall it isn't the worst thing in the world, but I never look forward to it. Hopefully you have a gentle OB.
