Trying EASY

Hello all, my twins are 6 weeks old and so far I have just been in survival mode.  Just for the past week or so am I actually trying to get a consistent routine down. The hardest part for me, besides having two!, is the activity time after they eat.  Usually one might be alert but they are never both awake after eating.  So they basically eat and nap all day, and are more awake at nighttime.  Although I can appreciate all the napping, I think it's time to get a routine in place.  RIght now, when I do activities with them, one or both will be dozing through the activity.  Here is what we do:

Swing/bouncy seat

Dancing and singing

Take a walk

Look at black and white pictures

Playmat on back or tummy

Wear baby in a sling

Do anyone else's LOs sleep through their activity time?  How is their napping?  Are they still just too young? (They were born at 37 weeks, 1 day).

TIA

DD will be 6 weeks on Wednesday, and we are struggling with maintaining a routine, which I kind of expected. At this point, I feel like super mom if I get 2 consecutive EASY rotations in a day, and that's rare.

Plus, we just had a growth spurt, and then Daylight Savings time messed us all up. I think we'll be in good shape in a couple weeks.

They're still pretty young...

I agree that they are still young for all of that. We would get activity time in a few minutes at a time around that age and made sure to do tummy time. I would give it a few more weeks before you work on a routine.
