One of those Days

Ok, so LO is 8 weeks - 2 weeks adjusted. Every time I put him down the nap - he starts to fuss. I can't hold him all day so I finally put him in my Baby Bjorn and now he is happy and napping .... probably not as good as if he was not on me but at least he is fussing non-stop. I'm afraid that I might be causing bigger problems down the road by wearing him but I tried letting him cry himself to sleep ... after about 5 minutes I had to pick him up.

Anyone have one of those days? He wasn't like this yesterday - can there just be days where LOs need to be closer and then some days they don't?

My sister-in-law baby wears all the time and she has a 9month old, She's been doing it since he was just a few weeks old. And a few months ago she started putting him down on his own to sleep and it was fine. Yes, all babies are different. But I dont see the arm in wearing your baby like that. They like the closeness and it makes them feel safe to be so close to you

I'm most concerned about nighttime - he has always been good at being put down and me being away - I'm just concern if I wear him all day that nighttime might become difficult.

He is much to young to self sooth, so I wouldn't try that until much later. Once you think he is in a pretty good sleep I would try to get him out and just hold him for a few minutes and then lay him down. You could also try a swaddling blanket. I recently had DD #3 and we only swaddled for the first couple of weeks with the other 2, but now we do it at night and the occasional nap if she is having a hard time settling down. I swear by it and she will now not go to bed at night without it. (She has slept all night other than 3 times her entire life.)  Walmart has them for $10, so it is cheap to try.
