Mrs. McIrish!

I was ready a post on IFV and saw your response.  I also saw in your siggy that you transferred "3 crappy" embyros.  What's up with that?  I have seen many have BFP's transferring 4 cells on 3dt.  So I'm not giving up hope for you!  FX they decide to stick around.

 Hugs.

Yeah, sadly our ET was a disaster even with donor eggs.. Story of my IF life..  We had 5 embryos left (1 arrested from day 3 to 5) but of the 5, 4 were still morulas and 1 was an early blast, a 1CC. I was shocked at the poor quality since it was just supposed to be my crappy eggs as our problem so how could this happen? It was devastating to say the least. We put back the 1CC, a 3M morula and a 1M morula. It would be a miracle for this to work...     the other 2 morulas were kept in culture to day 6 to see if they were just slow growers but nothing was able to be frozen.

My DH has always had great SA's but I've learned from others that the sperm can still have fragmented DNA which will cause the embryos to fail from day 3 to 5. I'm suspecting that might be the problem. DH has a lot of the risk factors for it so I'm gathering info to order that test. It's experimental and lots of REs don't believe in it.  You also can't really fix if it comes back poor. You can try some vitamins to improve it but it's basically a crap shoot for the embryologist to blindly pick a good sperm to ICSI with.  I'm not sure I can take anymore of this...

Mrs. McIrish I hope you don't mind me posting here but I was reading this post and wanted to mention a fairly new procdure called PICSI. My DH's numbers have steadily decreased since his first SA and at each IVF cycle they dwindled further. Our first two cycles were failures because our embryos arrested early or developed poorly. On this last cycle my RE mentioned PICSI which mimics the fluid that surrounds the egg that the sperm have to get through in order to fertilize it and this allows the embriologist to pick the healthiest sperm out of the sample to inject for ICSI. That resulted in our 6 fertilized eggs growing to day 5 and giving us two blastocysts. I don't know if this is something your RE does and if it is something that would help, but I just thought it was worth metioning. Again I truly hope you don't mind that I posted this hear and I am wishing you the very best with this cycle.

thanks. I don't mind the advice or you posting here. I appreciate it. I have heard of picsi but don't know if my donor clinic does it. It isn't on the list of "services" but I will look more into it. We are going to get the frag test first to see what it shows. Thx again.
