I was having trouble sitting for two full weeks. It improved a bit by three weeks but the pain didn't fully subside until 5 weeks. I just packed my underwear with a pad and tucks pads. It's tough but you will get through it!!

It hurt for a couple weeks for me. Sitz baths and pads from the freezer were my best friend for a while.

I'm almost four weeks out and I can finally say I have had a few days where I haven;t noticed any pain or irritation. Hang in there!

Guess I just got lucky.  I had a 2nd degree tear with very little pain.  The most painful thing for me was the pulled muscle in my neck.  It hurt so bad I couldn't feel anything else. My pain pills were used for that.  Hang in there it'll get better.

It took about 2 weeks for me, and it's still a bit sore for some gas pains/bms/and a few other things. Who knew coughing and sneezing would hurt your girl bits via pelvic floor muscles after birth?

I had a system of an ice pack diaper, with Tucks, epifoam on top, and numbing spray. I did this for two weeks because I also had a second degree tear from my 9 lb bundle of joy. Sitting was almost impossible and that first BM...needless to say I thought I was delivering another baby! It does get better I promise. GL!

Ice diapers. If I could I would lend you my DH. He makes the best ones. We liked them so much that we always keep one in the freezer for when a kid bumps there head or something!

I also had a 2nd degree tear and it hurt until 3 weeks pp. I'm now 5 weeks pp and I don't hurt at all. Tucks pads, my squirt bottle, and peri spray were my best friends! Did the doctor not give you any pain medication? He gave me Percocet, but I rarely took them unless the pain was really bad.
