This time DH told his dad and girlfriend first because he was home for hunting and we weren't sure when we would see them again. We are waiting til after our us on 11/15 to tell the other sets of parents. Last time we told my mom and step dad first since they were the first set we saw after finding out.

We see my parents about once a week, sometimes more, so DD spilled the beans with them first (we didn't tell her until we were ready to tell basically the entire world).  We sent the pic in my sig to MIL the same day, and as expected, she called us about 33 seconds after she opened it.

DHs parents are separated and they are not close to us either emotionally nor distance wise.  My parents on the other hand are only 25 min away and I spend the night out at their farm frequently and the kids are close to them.  They have known first each time.  I'm super close to my family.

We haven't told either yet, but DH's will find out first. We will do early Christmas with them the week before Christmas, and then be with my family on Christmas. DS will open a "big brother" gift at both houses, and it just happened that we'll be with DH's parents first.

I don't remember last time. I think we told at the same time.

We told my parents first because it felt right. We told his family the next day. It all worked out well.

Mine. I didn't want to tell any of them until the holidays. But then we were at my folk's house on Saturday and they kept going on and on about this cruise they want to take in July. They wanted us to help them book it. So we had to tell them.

ETA: My mom passed away almost a year ago. We told my dad and stepmom this weekend.

We told dhs BC it was the first place on the way home and they get home hours earlier than mine. That's the only reason.

Mine! I wanted my family in the loop now because of some health issues I am dealing with. His will not find out unti Christmas since his mother is a huge gossip and threatened to spread the news early if he didn't himself last time.

We told DH's parents first the first time, and this time we told my parents first. No real reasoning behind either way -- it's just who we saw first after we found out.

My parents have grandchildren from my brother, but DH's parents this will be their first. Plus, after I told DH he jumped up and yelled, "I gotta call my mother!" so I didn't have too much of a say, haha. I wanted to do a special "reveal" for them, but he was too excited.

Both my parents,  DH's parents, and our siblings will be having Thanksgiving dinner at our new home this year and we are going to tell them then. I'll have my first ultra sound the day before so we are super excited!! I'm telling them to keep it a secret cause we will only be a little over 7 weeks at that time. There are some really close friends and extended family that I want to tell at the 12 week mark. Then I'll make it Facebook official on the 13th week! Here hoping it goes according to plan :)

Thanks for sharing ladies! It's interesting to hear how other couples went about it. We plan to tell my parents first and then his parents when we see them on Thanksgiving. I don't expect DH's parents to be thrilled as they never have anything nice to say about anything, but they won't rain on our parade!

We are waiting until after our appointment next Thursday but we will tell my IL's that night and then we are flying to PA for Thanksgiving that Saturday so we will tell my parents then. Only because I want to see my parent's faces when we tell them. It just worked out that we are going up there right after I found out I was pregnant.
