Anyone take Zofran?

Hi All,

I am almost 10 weeks and have had morning sickness for last 3+ weeks.  It lasts off and on all day, where I feel nauseous and really tired, but have only gotten sick a handful of times. It honestly feels like I have a terrible hang over everyday.  :-(.  I know, odd comparison!  My doctor said I can take Zofran when I really feel sick.  I have taken it a couple of times, when I need to get through a family function, wedding or something.  But I feel guilty for putting meds in my body and harming my baby.  Anyone else take it?  All turn out ok?

Thanks for your help!

I took it because I went to the ER from severe dehydration due to my ms. While I haven't had my baby yet, I did take it as needed, and my mom took it with my and my lil bro and we are ok. I really don't think any dr would prescribe something that would have high risks.

I took that and two other anti nausea meds due to HG for 37 weeks and my baby is beyond healthy. If you need it then take it.

I took it when things got really bad last time - I think my prescription was for around 30 pills, and I took maybe 25 of them. I didn't need them anymore after week 18 or so.

DS is healthy.

I get really bad MS.  I took it every day with DS during my entire pregnancy (I would puke every day throughout the whole 40 weeks).  I've been taking it every day for this pregnancy for the last week or so.  DS is completely healthy.  If Zofran is what it takes for me to be able to function and keep food down, so be it.

You've honestly just got to get out of the mindset that meds are hurting your baby.  It's more harmful for you to be unable to eat or drink.

Your doctor wouldn't prescribe it if it would harm your baby. It has been studied, it's safe.

I took the max dosage last pregnancy every day for over four weeks and my kid turned out fine. I've been taking a pill a day for a week now, no reservations.

I take zofran.. 4mg every 4 hours as needed. It is classified as a "B" class drug I believe, and is considered safe. It helps me not puke.. But the nausea is constant. My Dr said i can take gravol as well. I think treating sickness with an approved medication is better than not being able to hold down any nutrition. Risk vs reward, right?

I also compare my pregnancy to the hangover from hell that never goes away! Lol. Fingers crossed for a better second trimester for all of us sickies!

Thanks guys!  I feel so much better after hearing from you.  I will stop beating my self up about it.  Had a bad day the day after writing this post, took 1/2 of one and felt a thousand times better the rest of the day and next.  Thanks again!!
