worried about brown spotting...

Hello, I just realized I am pregnant last Friday. My boyfriend and I are very excited about it, it was not planned at all, actually we had just become engaged about 2 weeks ago and our wedding was planned for September next year. Now, if God helps, we'll have a 2 month-old baby by then.

However, I am very very worried because according to my counts I am 8 weeks today, but I've been having brown spotting for the last two weeks. Doctor said in 50% of the cases it's normal but there's a big probability that I lose my baby.

He ordered an ultrasound today, so I am going there in about 2 hours to see if everything if fine, or else if I will need to have a D&C.

Weird thing is that I've been feeling great, I usually suffer from strong heartburn and since I am pregnant I don't. Also I don't have morning sickness, only a super developed smell sense and a lot of tenderness in my breasts.

Anyone who passed through brown spotting and then going alright at the end? I need some hope, 50% sounds like a lot!

From what I've read brown spotting , even some red spotting, is normal. I wish I could offer some kind of anecdote, but I am only 6 weeks along. Glad to see that you have an attentive doctor. I pray that all will go well for you today !

Apparently everything is ok. I am not 8 weeks, but 5, as my boyfriend calculated. We could see the black spot today but it's too small to have a heartbeat. I will be having another ultrasound next week just to be sure it is growing because the midwife said it was not normal to have brown spotting for so long.

Next week it should be double the size. I am so excited and hoping to end the first trimester without any major problems.

My wife spotted around 5-6 weeks as well. Something called implantation bleeding according to the OB.

I have had a similar situation since yesterday:
Thought I was 6 weeks, but apparently I'm 5 cause the ultrasound showed the sac and barely could see the baby in very few millimeters.
I have another US scheduled in a week to see if the baby has developed normally... I'm hoping!

I have not been spotting brown, only a yellowish whity discharge and some very mild cramping since yesterday.
Last night I woke up in the middle of the night suddenly and very scared feeling like "not pregnant" anymore :
My boobs felt less swollen, not sore at all!
This morning I still had some nausea, some sickness during the day and boobs a bit more swollen...

I'm confused and feeling weird and depressed, I fear a missed miscarriage.
My husband says I always expect the worst but it's so difficult and overwhelming as things happen inside MY body, not his...

Let us know how it went next appt!
I hope all is OK with you.

i spotted starting at end of week 5 to end of week 11.  it started with bright red blood then just brown the entire time.  i had numerous ultrasounds since i did have a mc earlier this year and baby was doing fine.  when i had my mc, i never had brown spotting- it started with pink and progressed from there.  hoping the ultrasound brings you peace.

Thanks everyone for your support. Now I feel it can be normal. I am feeling better today, at least less stressed. I will just hope for the best and wait to see if baby grows this week.

I spotted from ab 5-6 weeks til 12 weeks on n off... Sometimes red sometimes brown or peach I even had it to the point it was dripping on the bathroom floor.....(sorry if tmi) I even had an episode of spotting at 21 and 28 weeks... The first trimester spotting dr said was implantation bleeding ( also called a sub chorionic hemorrhage) which my dr said is just a scary term for the implantation bleeding. I tried to lay n rest as much as I could. The other two times I amounted to having a very sensitive system n was just doing too much... Pregnancy went well. I had a very healthy 7 lb 9 oz baby boy 4 weeks ago who is in my arms right now. n wanted to tell you not to worry yourself sick... Everything is going to b ok. :)
