Just for Fun Girl Poll

Here are the names we are considering for phantom DD#2.

Which name do you like best?

We keep coming back to these same 4 names.  Each one has it's pros and cons. MN will be Royer.  It's a family name that is non-negotiable.  DD#1 is Renee Nicole

Colette- I like the fact that this name is elegant, unique, but not out there.  My hang up is that my name is Nicole.  If she had a nn it would probably be Etta.  This is DH's absolute favorite.

Audra- I like that it's uncommon.  It also just love saying it.  I worry that it's too close to Audrey which is significantly more popular.  Sounds terrible with the chosen middle name, but family significance is more important than flow.

Magdalen (Maggie)- Love the nn Maggie. We're not fans of Margaret, Margo, Magnolia, etc. but we like Magdalen.  It is pretty close to Madelyn though which is uber trendy, but we would most likely call her Maggie 90% of the time.

Elizabeth (Liz)- DH and I both love that this name is a true classic.  Our biggest hang up is that it's popular, and while that shouldn't be a big deal, we're having a hard time getting over it.

  • Colette (49.3%)
  • Audra (17.8%)
  • Magdalen (Maggie) (16.4%)
  • Elizabeth (Liz) (16.4%)

I like Colette the best and I think only name nerds will know about the roundabout connection between Colette and Nicole.  My second choice would be Audra.  Yes, it has the same beginning as Audrey, but I don't know any Audreys IRL.  I think the ending of Audra makes it different enough.  3rd would be Magdelen and then behind that, like well behind is Elizabeth.  Don't get me wrong, Elizabeth is a great name, classic, ages well...but I like the other names because they are less common but still classic.

I love Colette Royer.  Beautiful.  Sure, Nicole and Colette have the similar sound in the "col", but I do not think it is "matchy" or sounds bad.  It is actually a nice connection to you, IMO.  It sounds great with Renee, too.

My second choice would be Elizabeth.

Not a fan of the other two names.

I like all 4 names, and I think all of them would be good with Renee.  However, I just love Colette.  I like the French connection between the two names, and I like the nn idea of Etta.  I think my second choice would be Elizabeth.

I like them all, but chose Audra.

I'm a Tulip in a cup, I stand no chance of growing up.

Burt Farlander: Do you promise to let our daughter be fat or skinny or any weight at all? Because we want her to be happy, no matter what. Being obsessed with weight is just too cliché for our daughter.
Verona De Tessant: Yes, I do. Do you promise, when she talks, you'll listen? Like, really listen, especially when she's scared? And that her fights will be your fights?
Burt Farlander: I do. And do you promise that if I die some embarrassing and boring death that you're gonna tell our daughter that her father was killed by Russian soldiers in this intense hand-to-hand combat in an attempt to save the lives of 850 Chechnyan orphans?
Verona De Tessant: I do. Chechnyan orphans. I do. I do.
