Prior Depo shot users?

My DH and I are starting to figure out a timeline TTC for #2.  We disagree slightly, him sooner, me later.  Anyways, I am on the depo shot and have only had 2 rounds.  Before LO I've used the pill.  I'm just wondering how long it was before you started ovulating again or if you don't know when you O'd...how long after your missed shot did you get PG?  I've read that no matter how long you have been on it, it could take up to a year to ovulate again.  I just wonder if they just say that to cover their butts or if it really is fairly common to not O for a year or even 6 months.

I was on the depo for a year, went off of it and it took another full year to even get my period again. I have no idea if I was ovulating as soon as I got my period back. I've been off of it for years.

I didn't ovulate until a full year after my last shot was due (not given).  It took another 1.5 years for me to get pregnant, but that had nothing to due with depo.

I was on depo for a little while (2 shots). I came off of it to ttc. It took me 13 months to conceive. My cycles coming off of depo were 14 to 120 days long, but this was more likely due to my PCOS. Best of luck.

i think it took me around 8 mths to get my period again after stopping

I was on it for 14 years (went off for a year or so to have my DS in 2006) and it took me 4 months! I never started my period tho...just "knew" I was pregnant so I bought a test...or 2...or 6! LOL...it just depends on your body. It took me 6 months and a LEEP surgery to get pregnant with my DS. I say if you dont want to get KU soon, then wait until you are ready to go off the shot! GOOD LUCK!!

 I was on it for about a year. It took me 18 months to get my period again after my last shot. Then it took me 4 cycles to get pg with DS. Everyone is different. I would say plan on it taking 18 months to get your period again, but know that it can happen sooner. If you get your period before you're 100% ready to TTC, then just use protection. GL!

P.S. I believe they say to wait the 1 yr after your last shot to TTC because that's how long it can remain in your system. But again, everyone is different and metabolizes meds differently.
