Request for future month groups

I have a request of future month groups - to help some hurt feelings. 

I'd like to suggest that any groupie who gets a BFP but has a loss (chemical, ectopic, early miscarriage) gets put in their own column together and NOT in the BFN column.

I'm not sure what one would call it. Maybe someone has a good idea. Even a "loss" column.

Hopefully there would be future groups that wouldn't even need that "special snowflake" column! 

My P. Patchers are all done but those last few check-ins were difficult as I was placed in the BFN column - a chemical pregnancy or ectopic or miscarriage isn't a BFN. It just isn't. At all. It is a totally different feeling and totally different kind of loss/grief.

And at this point, sadly, I very much know the difference.

IVF #1 April 2012 = BFN, IVF #2 June 2012 = BFP. U/S 7/23 = saw heartbeat but measuring behind. Follow up U/S on 7/30 - no heartbeat. D&C 8/2. Trisomy 12. IVF #3 Oct 2012 = Chemical Pregnancy

Phone consult with CCRM on 12/12/12 - ODWU 1/4/13 - both tubes clear(!) - AFC 24, AMH 3.2, FSH 9.6, LH 5.4, E2 25. DH has high frag rate but improved!
IVF #4 March 2013 CCRM. EP protocol w/ Menopur, Gonal-F & Dexamethasone. ER 3/29 & IMSI, PICSI. 43R 13M 10F 6blasts bio'd. CCS testing reveals 3 normals!!! FET 5/31/13

I think it sounds like a good idea.  I'm so sorry that you have to know that feeling. 
Me; 35 DH 32 TTC for over 2 years First mini-IVF Sept 2011... Only 1 egg! ... BFN Switching RE IVF#2 May 2012 9 eggs and only 2 sperm, WTH! BFN IVF#3 Chemical... FML. 2 frosties. SAIF/PAIF ALWAYS WELCOME!!!!!

I totally agree BZeetyD I'm sorry that seeing that was hard for you and I wish we would of thought of something like this sooner. I know if it was was it would of hurt seeing that too! It sucks that there even has to be a bfn or cancelled part of the page! Lets for sure do something about that!!!

I am so sorry for your loss. I really think that this is a good idea for future check-ins, and hopefully no one will need to be in that category.

Married and TTC since November 2010 SA Normal, HSG Normal, B/W Normal = Unexplained IF
5 Failed IUI's Moving onto IVF, Stims Start 10/27, ER 11/5=27 eggs!, 23 mature, 1 Fertilized WTF?? Rescue ICSI on 12 and we had 3 more fertilize. Transfered 2 on 11/9. Beta on 11/23.

You're absolutely right, it's not the same thing at all. I had never noticed that on the check ins. It definitely needs to change. I'm so sorry for your loss.

What if you called the heading {Month} Angels?  That's what they have been calling it on the July MB.

I agree, Bzeety. After a c/p with IVF 1 I had to take a bump break b/c of the pain. I've also lost at 913 weeks. They all hurt, I think your suggestion is a great one. And hugs to you, hon. I know you're in a tough decision making phase right now. I hope you find the right path for you to move forward with.

I'm sorry the check-in brought you pain, we definitely want to keep this board a safe place where all are welcome and comforted. I absolutely agree with your suggestion moving forward.

OAN - multiple beta's can be a bit hard to stomach too for those of us left behind.

I agree, maybe I am wrong, but it was my understanding that posting beta 1 was all good. starting multiple new threads for additional betas, ultrasounds, updates ect. is not very sensitive for the rest of us. These updates should be posted under the same thread as the initial beta post and people can check in there vs having a new thread for Beta 1, Beta 2, Beta 3, Ultrasound, Goodbye Thank You posts!! Maybe it's just me, but I think it's a bit much...

I completely agree.  It added a little extra sting when my C/P was listed as a BFN with the July Sparklers.  Pretending that a loss didn’t happen is hurtful and is not in keeping with the support we are trying to achieve on the board.

IVF #1 (EPP Antagonist); 3R, 2M, 1F; 3dt of one 12-cell embryo = BFN

I also want to call out to all the month board leaders and say that this is not a reflection on you. I don't know how the original month boards got set up, or evolved - and from the 10(OMG!) months that I've been on this board, I think they have all been done the same way.

You guys who have championed the month board check-ins are wonderful and are doing lots of extra work for our benefit.

IVF #1 (EPP Antagonist); 3R, 2M, 1F; 3dt of one 12-cell embryo = BFN
IVF #2 (EPP MDLF); 6R, 4M, 3F; 3dt of 1-7 cell, 1-8 cell & 1-10 cell = BFP; confirmed C/P @ 4w2d
Genetic carrier screening negative (CF, Fragile X, SMA, Tay Sachs)

Thanks for bringing this up -- I haven't been a part of too many recent monthly groups, but it still bothers me when I see it happen to others.  When I was co-moderating the Lucky Clovers check-in, we always kept those ladies in the BFP list but added a note next to their name with what happened.  Having an entirely separate category is certainly a good -- possibly even better -- alternative.  Big (((hugs))) to all of you affected by this!

12/2012: (New RE) Operative hysteroscopy to remove scar tissue

1/2013:IVF/ICSI #3 Low-dose stim/Antagonist (AFC=6); ER=1/26 (5R-couldn't access rt ovary, 5M, 4F), ET=1/29 (trans 3) = BFP!; 2/11 beta#1(13dp3dt)=2127, 2/13=3367

I also want to call out to all the month board leaders and say that this is not a reflection on you. I don't know how the original month boards got set up, or evolved - and from the 10(OMG!) months that I've been on this board, I think they have all been done the same way.

You guys who have championed the month board check-ins are wonderful and are doing lots of extra work for our benefit.

Thanks!!! It was much harder than I thought It would be keeping track of all you girls!!! Especially after I got cancelled it got much harder! But I was happy to do it and it makes me feel much closer to you all!

I totally agree that this situation calls for a different category. However, I really plead with you to NOT use "angels" as the heading. It really goes against my personal and religious beliefs. I think "loss" covers it better, being more inclusive of a wider range of  beliefs. Thanks for allowing me my two cents.

Natural PG 9/27/11; MC at 8wks. Used Cytotec to expel: 1/20/12 (unpleasant)
First RE visit: 8/8/12, Saline Sonogram: 8/28/12(4cm unknown mass in upper left of uterus) 2nd Saline Sonogram: 10/2/12 (mass disappeared!) IVF injection class: 10/11/12
IVF #1: 10/17/12 Baseline: FSH- 9.4, E2- 24, LH- 3.7, Progesterone- 0.3. 6 follicles in my right ovary & 9 in my left. Rx: 150 Bravelle & 150 Menopur SQ in AM. 10/21/12: Add Ganirelix SQ in PM. 10/26/12: hCG Trigger IM. ER 10/28/12: 13R, 7M, 6F. 5 Made it to PGS. ET 11/2/12: CANCELED. PGS: All 5 have "severe abnormalities." Devastated. Begged RE for back-to-back IVFs; Started Provera 11/2/12. AF said FU and came anyway, destroying any chance for a Dec IVF. Maxed out lifetime IF meds insurance. I can barely breathe, waiting to get through this process, hoping for my take-home-baby.
IVF #2: 1/7/13 Baseline: FSH- 8.8, 4 follicles in my right ovary & 6 in my left. Rx: 150 Bravelle & 150 Menopur SQ in PM. 1/11/13: Add Ganirelix SQ in AM. 1/16/13: hCG Trigger IM. ER 1/18/13: 9R, 5M, 5F. 2 Made it to PGS. ET 1/23/13: CANCELED. PGS: All embryos have "multiple severe abnormalities." RE recommends we stop trying and focus on living childless, due to the repeated extremely poor quality of my eggs. I don't even know what to do with that.
IVF #3- NEW RE! 100% OOP: 3/1/13 Baseline: FSH- 9.6, E2- 61, Progesterone- 0.94, 3 follicles in my right ovary & 4 in my left. Rx: 150 Bravelle & 150 Menopur SQ in PM. 3/7/13: Add Ganirelix SQ in AM. hCG Trigger 3/9/13 SQ. 3/11/13 ER: 6R, 2M, 2F. Day 3: one 8 cell, grade 0. 3/16/13 Five day ET: one early blast, grade Fair. 3/24/13 Started period a day before beta. BFN.
IVF #4 (FINAL) (Added acupuncture to this cycle.): 3/25/13 WTF & Baseline: FSH-11.8, E2- 56, Progesterone- 0.84 3/26/13 Start stims. 3/30/13 u/s: 5 follicles in my right ovary & 4 in my left. Rx: 225 Bravelle & 225 Menopur SQ in PM. 3/31/13 Add Ganirelix SQ in AM. hCG Trigger 4/3/13 SQ. 4/5/13 ER: 5R, 3M, 3F naturally. Day 3: two 8 cell, grade 0, one 8 cell, grade 2 (Scale 0-best to 3-worst). 4/10/13 Five day ET: two blastocysts (the 3rd stopped growing.) 4/18/13 Beta: 2.5 BFFN.
No DE or adoption for us, FIRM.
That’s it for us. I am beyond devastated and have no idea how to proceed from here. My life has been forever altered by this experience. Best wishes to all in their journeys!
