XP: bottle question Long

My girls were four weeks early and are just over 6 weeks now. We tried several bottle in the beginning and chose Dr. brown regular bottle because they have the softest nipples and they were able to drink from them easily. From the start they have always made a smacking sound while drinking and it seems to be getting louder. I am wondering if this means they are getting air, as they are both gassy and spit up frequently.
I tried the ventaire wide bottle recently and they didn't make this sound. However, I think nipple is still too hard for them. They both drank around 2 oz in the time it takes them to normally drink 3 to 4oz.
Should I try a new bottle all together,stick with Dr.Browns, or keep trying the Ventaire?
I have a ton of ventaire bottle since I used them with DD1 and I really like them. I wonder if there is just an adjustment period when switching bottle.
