Thoughts on a Third Party Reproduction Board???

There has been a lot of brainstorming going on today regarding where everyone fits and I have noticed that there is a bit of a gap in regards to support for those of us going through the donor egg, donor sperm, donor embryo, gestational carrier or surrogate process.  Yes, we thankfully have a weekly check-in which is wonderful but I am just wondering if anyone else feels that the Bump would benefit from a board devoted to third party reproduction.  I am not really sure how we would go about establishing it but I would be more than willing to spearhead a suggestion to the decision makers.  Thoughts???

I'm not in that camp (yet) but I'm surprised there isn't one already. I would be highly interested.

How does one go about asking the bump gods?

DX: Unexplained/MFI issues
Long story: trying on our own + testing testing testing with 6 rounds of Clomid , more testing, injectables + TI, laparoscopy - one tube blocked, 2 IUIs with Follistim...BFNs.
RPL testing all normal

Moving on to IVF.

Our lil' lost sparks:
5w3d loss 7/30/10 - EDD March 2011
8w loss 4/15/11 - EDD November 2011
8w3d loss 8/2/12 - EDD March 2012
4w c/p loss 10/29/12 - EDD July 2012

IVF #1 April 2012 = BFN, IVF #2 June 2012 = BFP. U/S 7/23 = saw heartbeat but measuring behind. Follow up U/S on 7/30 - no heartbeat. D&C 8/2. Trisomy 12. IVF #3 Oct 2012 = Chemical Pregnancy

Phone consult with CCRM on 12/12/12 - ODWU 1/4/13 - both tubes clear(!) - AFC 24, AMH 3.2, FSH 9.6, LH 5.4, E2 25. DH has high frag rate but improved!
IVF #4 March 2013 CCRM. EP protocol w/ Menopur, Gonal-F & Dexamethasone. ER 3/29 & IMSI, PICSI. 43R 13M 10F 6blasts bio'd. CCS testing reveals 3 normals!!! FET 5/31/13

I have mentioned it to the editors in the past but they won't start up a new board unless there is a demand for it. Perhaps a mod could help mush it through. I actually think the topic goes through parenting as well.

I'd definitely be interested not there yet, but might be after our consult with a new RE next week. I've already learned a great deal by following the weekly checkin, but a dedicated board would be great. As Edwina noted, I think it would also be hugely helpful for relevant parenting issues also.

I agree.  There are outside boards devoted to this but I feel it would be nice to have a place on the Bump where people at any stage of the process can feel at home.

I think this is a fabulous idea- there seems to be alot of ladies already on the weekly DE checkin, so there would likely be demand for a board.

DOR and AMA
2/12-5/12: 4 IUI cycles = all BFN;
7/12: DE IVF # 1 (with ICSI)- 20R, 16M, 14F, 5DT of 2 blasts (4AB & 3BB); 6 frosties = BFN;
Lupus anticoagulant initially high, then found to be normal on hematology consult;
Follow up testing in September all clear;
Started synthroid for "high normal" TSH;
FET # 1- late October 2012- BFP on FRER; beta # 1- 21(low), beta # 2- 48 (still low), beta # 3- 132, beta # 4- 1,293; beta # 5- 5,606; last beta- over 100,000. First u/s 11/21- heard heartbeat
12/12- Officially an OB patient!
Level 2 ultrasound shows vasa previa and referral to MFM
Mandatory c section for delivery
Keeping fingers crossed

TTC since 10/09 Me-44 DH-45 RE and testing 10/10-11/10, Recommending IVF 1/11 New RE AMA and DOR-DH low motility IVF #1.1 cancelled 3/11 due to poor response IVF #1.2 May 2011, one perfect 8-cell embryo, 3dt-BFN, IVF #2.1 Converted to IUI d/t poor response. New RE 9/2011. IVF 2.2 completed using HGH,EPP,DHEA, Q-10 and accupuncture. Transferred one 8-cell, grade one embryo on 10/19. BFP 10/31/11 Chemical pregancy on 11/2/11. Started stims for IVF #3, our final try, on 12-2-11. ET on 12/18. Transferred 3 Grade A embryos-BFFN DE IVF 22R, 15M, 13F. Transferred 2-4AB Blasts on 4/7. 6 frosties. Beta #1 at 8dp5dt- 166!!!Beta #2-344 at 10dp5dt Beta #3-719@ 12dp5dt. u/s 4/24 showed one gestational sac, heartbeat 124/min on 5/2.

I think there are some on the adoption board who would benefit as well.  Those that are doing embryo adoption.  I know there aren't many but there are some that I've seen.

Yes yes yes!! 3rd party is so overwhelming whether it's DE, DS, donor embryo or GC, not just during cycle but after as well. It would be great to have a place for posts dedicated just to those using 3rd party or who had success via 3rd party!

I'd totally be on board with this. We're not pregnant yet obviously but I'm already foreseeing issues that I'd want to chat with others about that are related to DS. I would really like to see this happen.

DE IVFer here. I hope the Bump creates this new board, and BK said it sounded like a great idea. However, if the Bump doesn't open the new board, and the decision comes to open one independently on proboards, would someone please post about it on the DE weekly check-in?

Blood work, anatomy and his SA = in fine shape say drs
Our journey so far:
7/09: BFP m/c 6w s/e/p, 2 rounds methotrexate
4/10 BFP m/c 6w D&C..it was a boy :(
6/10-2/11 TTC naturally, BFNs
3/11: Clomid cycle, BFN
4/11-9/11 TTC naturally, BFNs
10/11 IUI #1 BFN
Have to breathe over next few months.
Feb 2012: IVF #1, max stims, only 3 retrieved, all fertilized, only 1 transferred on Day 3. BFN.
RE says move to DE. DE it is.
DE IVF #1 - 10/29: 12 eggs retrieved, 10 fert. 11/2: Day5 transfer 2 'perfect' blasts. 4 blasts on ice. 11/11: Beta #1 at 9dp5dt = 72.7 11/13: Beta #2 at 11dp5dt: 30.3 c/p :( WTF appt 11/27: RE a little dumbfounded. Checking Thyroid panel again, Hysterogram as well; FET most likely in Jan. '13.have reconsidered a parallel path of adoption.

I have been hoping for a board like this for  a while.  As somone newly starting down this road, I was happy that there was the weekly checkin, but feel it would be so much better to be able to start read and answer different and specific threads. 

The weekly check in gives me a sense that there group of us who know exactly where I am and have been through it.  It feels good to know there is somewhere I can post and give and receive support.  

I really wish we had a dedicated board.
