Zofran pump

I posted earlier in my birth month group but this is kind of an update to that so excuse te double post but I need some advice from anyone whose used a zofran pump. I went to my OB for a follow up to my dating and renal ultra sound from yesterday. We even got another in office us with pictures. Which was great. Baby is doin perfect! My OB was concerned about a couple Things. First off I've lost I thought was six but apparently was 10 pounds in two weeks. My OB has written orders for a med service to come to my house for me to get an IV for the next several days and a zofran pump inserted in my side. this idea frightens me. I also got a follow up Ua slip for my bladder infection since one of my ureters in my bladder was blocked in the us follow up with urology tomorrow.

I know it's a lot to take in and I apologize. I just was wondering if any of you have used or know someone who has used a zofran pump. Or if you have any advice on it. I never knew one existed until recently so I'm a little apprehensive. Tia

I had one for two months from like 10 weeks until almost 20 weeks.  Its not bad.  Are you getting one that you can control or getting one that has a set dosage?  I could control mine.  Losing 10lbs in two weeks isn't good unless you're really overweight.  When I was 9 months pregnant I weighed 25lbs less than I did the day I got married, not good.  Then I gave birth to a growth restricted baby.  You'll get used to it and you'll love it.  The zofran you get from the pump and the zofran you take orally do not have the same effectiveness, the pump is much better.  I was very sad when I had to go back to the oral form.  Sorry you're so sick :(  I was so sick when I was pregnant with my son that I couldn't work, I could barely drag myself out of bed :*(

I had severe morning sickness with my last pregnancy and was underweight. I had lost about 8lbs but my dr didn't seem concerned and said it was normal in 1st tri. I asked for Zofran for my benefit only and he obliged.

My point is that I was underweight and lost more and the dr still wasn't concerned. It seems pretty drastic to me to get an IV of Zofran. I would absolutely ask the dr if they felt this is completely necessary. I should also add I went on to gain 56 lbs that pregnancy so all turned out fine. :)

Well I'm 5'8 and now weigh under 120. After my dr saw me today he told me I didn't look good at all.

I'm a SAHM but have been living on the couch. I have DH taking my oldest to school. I feel like a bum but I can't move without vomiting.

Oh And I forgot to mention I think I'm more nervous about changing the pump than anything else.

In that case it seems like your doctor is right. I had to have Lovenox injections everyday for a few months. I made it through and so will so. Hang in there!
