Zantac question

If your LO is taking Zantac for reflux how do you get them to take it? We just started yesterday and he ends up spitting most of it out. I did get it flavored.

We didn't have a problem with the zantac.  I just try to make sure it goes in the cheek and immediately give a pacifier to suck on and hold it in his mouth so he can't spit it out.  Or you could try one of these:

My LO hates it, she always spits it out if I put it straight into her mouth.  Our pedi told us to put it in a bit of breast milk, so before a feeding I put it in about half an ounce and give that to her, then feed her as normal.

I was putting it in his bottle, but then he would spit up some of his bottle, making it pointless. So, then I just gave it to him straight towards the back of his mouth, squeezed his cheeks together, and blew lightly on his face (which causes them to swallow). It worked really well. Thankfully, we're on Prevacid now and it tastes like strawberry, so no problems getting him to take that!

I have the best tip on giving this med.  The nurses at CHOP gave it to my ds in the nipple before feeding him. Super easy and he never refuses it. You can def put it in the bottle but if they decide to not drink it all that could be a problem.  But the nipple trick works awesome.  We are still doing it.   Hope this helps.
