Hi basters!

I'm on my last couple days of BCPs - woo hoo!! I go in tomorrow for b/w and u/s and should start Lupron tomorrow if everything looks good. Still on track for an end of November ER, but it might fall on the first couple days of December depending on how I respond. So there is a small chance I would be a snow bunny, but as of now I'm still a baster!

GL to everyone else, I'll be rooting for you all. And big (((hugs))) to the ladies who were cancelled/delayed. 

ETA: I forgot the QOTD. I did buy a onesie from my alma mater when I was there for reunion in June and thought I was bringing on bad karma (ridiculous I know) so I don't have anything else but that.

Checking in! I'm on day 7 with Follistim 175. When in yesterday for U/S & B/W i had a total of 20 follicIes. 10 on the bigger side and 10 small. She had me add Menopur and Ganirelix yesterday. Menopur and Ganirelix stung like a mother*%#*! Other than that I'm feeling good! RE is thinking ER the 13th I'm going in tomorrow for U/S & B/W and she'll have more of an idea exactly. I'm starting to get nervous.  I feel like IF is messing with my head and I don't like it at all! 

QOTD: I have not, I'm waiting for when I get a positive beta before I go out buying baby stuff.

I did have the ER on Sunday, 11/4 and honestly it was scary and traumatizing and I truly hope to not ever have to go through that again. Monday & Tuesday I was in ridiculous pain, swollen, distended belly, could barely stand up, shooting pains, it hurt to walk, cough, move.. it was a mess. On Tuesday night I said that if we had a 3 day transfer and I felt the same on Wednesday we'd have to cancel the cycle because I didn't think I could go through with a transfer feeling like that. 

Luckily, yesterday I felt MUCH better and feel even closer to normal today.

Anyway. I had 23 follicles. They collected 19 mature eggs and 18 of them fertilized (When the nurse called, I thought she said 8 fertilized and I said "Hey, half isn't bad, right?" and she was like, um, no...EIGHTEEN.

So that's kind of crazy. And it turned out that I'm doing a 5-day transfer so it's scheduled for Friday (tomorrow! OMG!).

 

QOTD: I have not bought one single thing baby related. I feel like we've been doing this for 2 years and it's been bad after bad after bad and I'm just in this state of like, paralysis about baby ITEMS. Everything else to get to that point is just so much that the STUFF just takes a backseat.

ETA: I don't think it's a jinx, it just hasn't been on my radar.

I literally just got the call from my RE with my first Fert Report. Yesterday we knew 18 were retrieved but only 7 were mature and 5 more were super close to maturity so they put them in some special culture so they could finish maturing. In the end 12 matured and 10 have fertilized! I'm solo relieved. Next update will be Saturday! Praying my embabies grow strong and healthy!

Today I had my B/W and U/S so far I have 15/10mm follies and five smaller ones. I am waiting on my E2 level. Nurse said I'm slow and steady stimmer so we shall see what happens over the next few days.

I haven't bought anything anytime I look at baby stuff I feel like I'm setting up myself for disappointment. I was in B&N and eyed f some pregnancy books from a distance and immediately regretted it and got all teary eyed.

Just got back from ER an hour or so ago. I'm feeling fine, but not sure if the cramps and all will kick in later. They retrieved 14 eggs and now we wait to see how things work out tomorrow.

QOTW: Nope - haven't bought anything and don't plan to until a positive beta (though I have been tempted)

We had ER on the 5th. Out of 23 we had 17 mature eggs and 9 fertilize. Update today after waiting 3 hours for the doc to call as to whether it would be 3 or 5 day finally told 5 day. We've always made it to day 5 this waiting as they said they weren't sure and the low fertilization has me a bit worried but we have 3 beautiful 8 cell and at least one 6 and one 7 so I"m trying to stay hopeful.

QOTDI have not purchased anything during the ivf cycle the things I bought were after we heard the heartbeat. Honestly I don't recommend to anyone thinking about it, when I came home after the news it was incredibly hard looking at that stuff. I won't be making that mistake again until 2nd tri.
TTC since Oct 2008. 2010 endo found and removed, 2 IUI's IUI#3 becoming IVF#1 ER on 9-9-10, ET on 9-15 anb beta 9-23 BFN, 3-21-12 moving on to IVF#2 with a shared risk program ER 5-7-12 and 5DT on 5-12-12 After 3 1/2 years we had a positive beta 5-21. Heart beat 6-11, no heart beat at 8 weeks 6-19. D&C 6-22. Aug FET on 8-16 hpt bfp on 7dp5dt! Aug 2012 Decreased beta resulted in c/p onto IVF#3 Nov 2012. +hpt on 6dp5dt, so far third time was the charm. Baby B due July 29th 2013! Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I had my baseline yesterday and everything looked really good.  I was scheduled to start stims Saturday and stop BC yesterday but we are still having issues with my inurance approving the IVF so as of right now I may be delayed a week to fight insurance or longer.  While I am extremely happy and thankful for insurance I am getting really tired of the run around we are getting.  Just tell us what you need to approve already and we will do it!! 

QOTD: I did purchase items well before I matched with my son's birthmom and also while we were trying with the RE before.  I did not purchase any big items though and tried to stay gender neutral.

We've bought one picture frame that I coudn't pass up. I saw it years ago and thought I needed it and it would be easy to find later. When we started meeting with the RE I went to look for the frame where I found it before and it was no longer carried. I spent a week searching high and low online for a distributor and finally found it. It took weeks to come in. But it's worth it. It's in a box, under the bed. I don't think it's a jinx, but I don't want to look at it if we get a BFN either...

Had U/S on Monday where they found two cysts but don't seem concerned at this point.  Estrogen came back great, I stopped birth control on Tuesday and feel what I think is AF on the verge now. Devil , stims start Saturday evening and first monitoring appointment is Tuesday. Ready to get this going!!

QOTD- I don't think it's a jinx, but I personally have not purchased anything baby related for myself.  After over 3.5 years I'm hoping for the best, but I'm preparing for the worse.  It's the only way I know how to protect myself right now.

Still on suppressants.  I go in on the 15th for my next appointment and start stims on the 16th or 17th.  My nurse said I should get a period on Lupron but so far nothing (I kinda thought it would still be on track like a normal cycle.)  Anyone not get a period while on Lupron (no BCP)?

 

Have you bought anything baby or do you feel like it’s a jinx?  Five years ago when we first started we bought a onesie.  We're holding off until at least the 2nd trimester on anything else.  (I don't feel like it's a jinx.)

Dx: Hypothalamic amenorrhea
Progesterone to induce period w/ the goal of Clomid - never got period (September 2011). RE referral.
Femera - never responded to the meds (December 2011)
Clomid with TI - BFN (February 2012)
Injectables (Menopur) - hyperstimulated/canceled (March 2012)
Injectables #2 (Menopur) with TI- BFN (May 2012)
IVF - OHSS (transfer canceled), but 11 frozen! (June 1012)
FET - 1 transferred on 8/09/12. Beta#1 (11dp5dt): 350.3; Beta#2: 365; Beta#3: 157. Biochemical pregnancy.
FET # 2 - 1 transferred on 11/01/12. Beta#1 (11dp5dt): 337; Beta#2: 769. BFP!!! 1st ultrasound 11/28/12 showed heartbeat, but measuring 5 days behind. 2nd ultrasound 12/05/12 - miscarriage.
FET # 3 - 1 transferred on 1/24/13. Beta#1 (11dp5dt): BFN.
FET # 4 - 2 transferred on 3/28/13. Beta #1 (11dp5dt): 673; Beta #2: 1265. Just under 6 weeks - m/c at home. WTF appointment in late May.

I just got cleared to start stimming tonight. My AFC today was 10 plus, better than my last cycle, so that's good. I'll be on 300 units of Follistim and 150 of Menopur for the next few days.

QOTD: I've only bought one item of baby stuff: a tiny little onesie that says "Worth the Wait." I'm going to surprise my husband with it if we ever manage to get KU. I can't bear to buy anything else.
Me: 39. DH: 41. TTC since 2009.
FSH: 9.5 at highest. AMH (11/2011): 0.9. AFC: 10ish. HSG: Normal. SA: Normal.
July 2011 - Feb. 2012: 2 Clomid/TI cycles; 3 injectables/IUI cycles. Good response but BFNs.
Dec. 2011: Laparoscopy (clear) + hysteroscopy to remove uterine polyp.

April 2012: IVF #1: FSH 9.2, AFC 7-8. Antagonist protocol.
Started stims (300iu Gonal-F, 150iu Menopur) 3/28.
Added ganirelix 4/1. Trigger 4/5 (7 follies). ER 4/7: 7R, 0M, 0F. :-(

Nov. 2012: IVF #2: Long Lupron protocol.
Started Lupron 10/27. AFC 10+. Started stims (300iu Follistim, 150iu Menopur) 11/8.
Trigger 11/18 (7 follies). ER 11/20: 9R, 1M, 1F. 3dt of my one 6-cell embie on 11/23: BFN.

Dec. 2012: Hail Mary IUI cycle with leftover IVF meds: BFN.

Feb. 2013: IVF #3: Estrogen priming protocol.
Pre-AF: estro patch + ganirelix. AFC 8-10. Started stims (450 Follistim, 150 Menopur) 1/28.
Added ganirelix 2/4. Combined Lupron/HCG trigger 2/10 (6-ish follies).
ET 2/12: 6R, 1M, 1F w/rescue ICSI. My embie didn't make it. :-(

July 2013: DE IVF #1

Tomorrow is my last day of stims!! I have my third and final appointment tomorrow afternoon and hopefully they give me a time to trigger tomorrow night. ER is scheduled for Sunday at 7:45am. So far so good. At my last appointment, I had 6-8 "good looking" follicles and none were overly dominant. My RE said that at their clinic about 50% of women do a fresh transfer vs. waiting a month for FET. He said he's almost positive I'll be good for a 5 day transfer (11/16).

I haven't purchased anything for the baby, but I have purchased a maternity shirt. LOL! It was almost free and was so cute.

TTC since 2/11 - Unexplained IF B/W revealed high prolactin levels. Taking bromocriptine for prolactin.
IUI #1-3 = BFN
IVF November = Cancelled (undermedicated = small follicles)
IVF December = ER 12/6 - 6R/4M/Only 1F
Transfered our one and only blast (3AA) on 12/11

I had my baseline sono and ultrasound this week, all looks good. I start stims on Saturday and go for monitoring on Tuesday. My hormones/emotions are all over the place, I am excited and nervous as I am sure all of you are.

QOTD: I have not actually purchased anything, but have done alot of online window shopping. In reality I don't think if I bought something it would jinx it but I still can't bring myself to buy anything. I will probably wait until wayyy into being preggers.

Just returned from retrieval. The got 6 eggs, which we are really excited about! Especially considering we were almost cancelled 6 days ago.
The ER went really well. I was sleeping within a couple minutes of being placed on the table... It def helped to reduce any anxiety!
Before I knew it I was back in the recovery room listening to the chick in the room next to me complain about "only getting 19 eggs" and how devastated she was. Blah.
Hope we get a great fert report tomorrow!

I'm still in pain from my ER on Tuesday. Taking Tylenol with codeine almost every 3 to 4 hours :( Waiting to hear from the embryologist on whether we need to go tomorrow for a 3dt or  wait till Sunday for a 5dt. We actually had 7ER 5M 5F, naturally which was exciting for us bc first IVF we had to do ISCI on all the eggs. 

As far as baby stuff, I bought a family member a very cute pink t-shirt with a picture of a pug on it and since I have a pug, I just had to buy one too. Even if my future baby is a boy - I will still have to make him wear it- just too cute! I bought a few baby books for myself, early on when I thought it would be right around the corner, and a few for my husband including a book on baby names.  I plan to give him the books the day I get a positive. I also bought my MIL a tshirt that says something about becoming a grandmother. Bought that three years ago at the beginning of all this never knowing it would be this difficult. She has been one of the most supportive people through all this and tries to keep the desire to herself, but wants this almost as much as we do.

Update on me:

Not much going on yet. Im on enough estrogen for a elephant to grow boobs and thats about it. I go in tom for u/s and bw and if ET is still on for the 19th then I think I start PIO on the 12th. Yeah :/, so not excited about that. Good luck to the rest of the turkey basters and big hugs to those who need it!!

Hi there! Can you add me to the list please? I am currently between ER and ET. We got 27 eggs, of which 23 were mature but only 1 fertilized naturally. Did rescue ICSI on 12 and as of today we have 3, 2 cell embryos. Looking like we will do ET on Saturday.

Hey basters!

Update: I get to start my stimms today, same amount as before 300 Follistim and then check in on Monday. So bittersweet to get the news that I was cleared, it meant my betas was finally at 0. Excited to get to have a do over. A little nervous that this works. Looks like I will have ER around Thanksgiving. I joked and said that is one way to get out of making dinner at my house, I was kidding of course.

When we first was going to start I bought a onsie last summer with his fav. nfl team Bills, made a card that when it opens has nfl theme music and it says welcome to the daddy team. Nothing else since then. Lord knows I want to be able to give him that.

Had my baseline appt for my FET this am. RE says everything looked right on target! Dropping my Lupron dose from 10 to 5 units tomorrow, and also adding Estrace!! 3mm lining today. Next monitoring appt scheduled 11/20. Hoping to have lining up to 8mm by then. Still on for ET 11/29!!

QOTD: Honestly.....over the last couple of years I have bought a few things....little items. Frames, novelty pacifiers....stuff like that. Sometimes I find it very difficult to stay away from the baby section in stores!!

Update: Tuesday was my baseline and it sucked. My body tried to ovulate through the bcps and failed so I ended up with a 20mm cyst on righty. Ugh. Thank goodness my hormones were low (e2 was 32, p4 was under 0.3). The really bad news was my amh came back at 0.7. I'm 27 so it puts me into a DOR category. I had my cyst aspirated this morning and talked to my Dr. He's upping my meds based on the amh. I start stims tomorrow!

QOTD: Up until I started IVF, I'd bought nothing. Since then, I've been slightly obsessive and allowed myself to by a crib toy, a stuffed owl, an owl bank, and a onsie that was on sale but so perfect!! I'm trying to sit on my hands from now on.

Hi ladies, I though ER would be late November, but my schedule has been pushed a little, so my anticipated ER is now 12/3.  So I'm moving into the Snow Bunny group.  Good luck to you all!

Hi everyone! Nothing too exciting here. Still on Estrace Lupron. Monitoring and lining check scheduled for Tuesday and if all looks good, we will be thawing embryos on 15th and hopefully doing transfer on the 17th. So ready to get this show on the road! GL, Basters!!!!

DX: DH (30) severe MFI, severely low count & low motility
Me (32): all clear
Appt with Urologist 5/21/12: exam, ultrasound, bloodwork all normal.
Testicular Biopsy with TESE on 6/8/12. good sperm found! (left side only) froze sperm, failed thaw test :(
Orientation for IVF/ICSI on 6/13/12. Waiting for the green light following biopsy results...results show adequate sperm production both sides.
2nd SA 6/18/12: sample is "adequate for ICSI"
Plan: IVF/ICSI July 2012!
ER: 7/26/12. 15 eggs retrieved, all mature.
TESE/TESA/aspiration from epididymis, no motile sperm found :(
froze all eggs, the saga of praying for good sperm continues.
8/3/12: 2nd opinion from MFI uro on biopsy slides. Suspects "partial late maturation arrest."
Plan: more SAs, third biopsy/TESE with frozen back-up either from DH or DS.
SA 8/17/12: Zero sperm
SA 8/23/12: Zero sperm
9/26/12: SPERM FOUND! 15 eggs thawed, 12 survived and were ICSI'd, only 3 fertilized normally. Refrozen as embies and will thaw in Nov. Please survive and grow!
All 3 survived the thaw on 11/15/12!
FET 11/17/12: transferred 2, one 4B, one 4C. Beta 11/30:BFFN
moving on to DS
DIUI#1 2/18/13,50mg Clomid cd 3-7, Ovidrel trigger, Beta 3/4/13: BFN.

Update on me: Tuesday was my SHG/injection class/signing consent forms. I passed out during the SHG (vasovagal reaction) but aside from that, all went well. Baseline on the 15th, stims start the 17th.

I have an entire closet full of baby crap that I've been collecting for years and when I was pg a sweet friend sewed me an entire set of newborn cloth diapers, so those are all sitting in there just waiting for a baby to wear them.
TTC on and off since April 2007. IUI#1 (50mg Clomid + Trigger) 3/14. BFP 3/25 at 11dpo. No heartbeat at 8 weeks on 4/26, D&C 4/27. IUI #2 7/22 (50mg Clomid +Trigger)= CP. IUI #3 8/16 = BFN. IUI#4 9/14= BFN. IVF#1 started 10/31; cancelled 11/15. New clinic; 1st visit 12/26. IVF #1 (take 2) cancelled. IVF#1 (take 3)Feb. 2013! 2/9/13 ER = 25 eggs. 24 M/22F. 5dt (SET)2/14. 2/25= BFP! Beta 372!

My first FET is officially on Saturday, 11/10. I can't quite believe it's the day after tomorrow, and it's even crazier that my beta is only 11 days away, on the 19th!  
The frozen process has been SO easy in comparison to the fresh IVF. I am so much more relaxed, and really hoping that is a good thing.  I am on 2mg estradiol three times a day, and crinone 8% gel twice a day.  Man, that crinone gets pretty disgusting after a few days, but it's certainly preferable to shots!
 
QOTW: I have not bought anything baby related for myself, although I do use baby oil soap to shave my legs :)  And I am constantly buying baby/kid stuff for all my friends' kiddos and my nieces and nephews.  

Me: 33, DH: 32, Started TTC #1 since November '11
Saw RE April 2012 due to irregular cycles, Dx'd PCOS (normal weight)
Clomid 50mg, 100mg, then Femara 7.5, no response after 7 cycles

IUI #1 on 7/11/12 but poor monitoring and found out after that I never ovulated
New RE; Begin IVF September '12: Lupron, Gonal-F, Ovidrel trigger
14 days of stims, ER 9/30/12 (17 eggs, 12 fert)
ET 10/5/12, single blast transfer, 6 frozen
Home Digi 10/13 (8dp5dt): BFP! Beta 1: 11, Beta 2: 10 = chemical preg :(
FET #1 single embryo transfer: 11/10/12
5dp5dt:BFP! Beta 1- 122; Beta 2- 160; Beta 3- 202; Beta 4- 276
Poor prognosis, U/S inconclusive, 11/27 stopped all meds
