We have a couple name ideas but...

We don't want to limit ourself to one name when we head to the hospital. Both DH and I are of the conviction that LO may be something different than what we originally thought. As an example, when my nephew was born, my brother and SIL had three names picked out. He came out with a birth mark the shape of a V on his forehead so they went with Vincent, which was one of the names.

We've decided that one is Atticus Kenneth (DH took convincing with Atticus but when he asked if I'd be okay with his dad's name as a middle name, he will only use Atticus if the middle name is Kenneth). The other names we have are Calvin and Harrison, two family names. But I can't think of middle names. And if we went with one of them I think it might sound weird to have the other as the middle name (Calvin Harrison/Harrison Calvin). Am I weird for thinking those sound weird together?

Yeah, those don't flow well, imo. But out of all your choices, I LOVE Calvin. Are there other family names you could use with it? Even something special to you and your DH- your wedding month, the place you met, your maiden name, etc?

I also like Harrison. I think Atticus is okay. I love TKAM but the sound is harsh to me.

Atticus is cute, but I honestly don't think it works with Kenneth. Any chance he'll go for Kenneth as a MN for a different name?

Yes, Calvin & Harrison sound odd together because they end with the same sound. Some may like it, but it's not a combo I love.

Maybe, though, Calvin Harris? Drop the "son" part? I think that works. Can't say I love it, but if it's a tribute to family names you like, would it help?

See, that's the thing with the names (including Atticus), I want something that has significance to me more than just "I like it; it sounds nice." DH has shot down my favorite girl name (Athena) because he thinks it's weird. But it has significance to me more than just being a name. Oh well...

Calvin was our top boy name, so I love it. I like the idea of using Harris. Brussels... what about a Belgian name? Is there somewhere specific you and your husband went in Brussels? A bakery? Street? Museum?

Don't think I'm nutty, but I think that would work for a mn. I love signifigant names for middle names, even if they're a little unconventional.

Harrison is my favorite of the three and I love the significance of Kenneth. Harrison Kenneth is a nice name, IMO. Atticus is nms and I don't like it with Kenneth. I like Calvin.. some middle names maybe: Calvin David, Calvin John, Calvin Scott, or Calvin Edward.

No, I don't think you're weird. When I thought of it, it sounded good to me too, actually. I'm thinking to maybe have the final names be Atticus like above, Calvin David (it was my gpa and great gpa's names plus my brother's name) and Harrison Whitlock. What do you ladies think?

haha I'm good! lol Calvin David was the first thing that came to my mind as David is my dad and brother's name, also! I like those choices! Can't get over how cool Whitlock sounds as a mn.

To be honest, I really don't like the mn Kenneth. I LOVE my FIL (I'm A LOT closer with him than my own dad), but.. It's not flowing in my mind. But when we had our u/s and found out LO was a boy, the first thing that popped into my head was "it's little Atticus" (even though I hadn't honed in on that name or anything) and it's been hard to shake it since then...

I like the different arrangements though!

Nah, I don't think so. I have two brothers and a brother in law and none are offended that I'm considering David as a mn.
