I had my hysteroscopy this morning to make sure there are no uterine polyps, fibroids, etc. that could interfere with implantation when we do IVF.First of all, ouch. It hurt.
Second of all, we didn't get great news. Our RE mentioned something about the potential of my ute's not developing in a certain part. That's when I got really upset; I was afraid that would mean I could never carry a baby. He ended up telling me, though, that he doesn't think that's the case because that never showed up on the HSG. He told us he thinks it's scar tissue; it's weird, though, because I've never had surgery on my ute. I did have an appendectomy earlier this year and I'm kinda wondering if maybe they nicked it by accident or something. Our RE was puzzled because he said usually you don't see scar tissue on someone's ute unless she's had a m/c, D&C, or some type of uterine surgery. I guess I'm just special. He was gonna be talking to the other doctors in the office about it today and double checking my HSG images, but told us that we're probably gonna be delayed a month or two for IVF. *sigh* I hate IF.
Update: OK...our RE just called to tell me that he discussed everything with the other doctors and he wants me to have a 3-D ultra sound done (ugh) and then we'll go from there. The good news is that if this is in fact scar tissue, we may be able to try IUIs again once it gets resolved. He had told us at our IVF consult that he didn't know why our IUIs hadn't worked since DH's numbers weren't too bad (the first 2 times, anyway); when I asked him about it tonight, he said that it's a definite possibility that we could try that again, depending on what happens with this whole thing. Either way, we're still delayed, though.
I am so sorry to hear you are getting delayed.
On the flip side how is exciting that you finally know why you are not getting pregnant, and with that knowledge they can move forward. Wishing you nothing but the best, keep us posted! ((((hugs))))
