Got the old lady evil eye today

I don't normally look for an "expectant mothers" parking spot, but I do know that my grocery store has two. If they are open and its raining or I have my daughter I go for it but usually park in a regular spot. I mean, its awesome to have, but I also realize I don't HAVE to use it. Just a nice perk ;)

Anyway.... I had my daughter with me and saw that both spots were free and decided to use one. Why not! As I pulled in an elderly woman exited the store and made her way to the handy cap spot next to where I parked. I sat in my car for a second and got my purse organized then looked out the window to see the lady staring at me!

Like.... STINK EYE STARE!

I got out of the car, gave her a smile, got my daughter out, then opened the trunk to get out our bags.

"You know I waited to get into my car just to make sure you were actually pregnant. Too many of you young moms abuse that spot."

I looked up and replied, "Excuse me? I'm sorry did I do something wrong?"

"These spots are for those who NEEEEEEED them you know."

Me: "I completely agree! Its so nice that the store does this for expecting mothers. They really come in handy!"

She then rolled her eyes and proceeded to get into her car and stare at me as we made our way into the store.

 

So enjoy the spot while you can ladies! The old lady police is out there watching you!!!!!

stupid old people - mind your own business!

and another old person vent...don't touch my baby - especially on the face or head. i'm going to touch you in the face next time you do that to him!

You are nicer than me, at this stage (hell who am I kidding I've been a B since like week 9 lol) I'd have told her where to stuff that stink eye. ;)

I would double the oreos to see this. Although I had a stanger touch my belly the other day so I touched their's back and the look on their face was priceless.

umm.. you are pregnant.. and you parked there.  What was she expecting someone over 50 and pregnant?  I got the same look from this old hag when I was using the walmart carts.  I can't walk very far nor can I stand very long so I hop in one.  This lady gave me the evil eye til I stood up and she saw how big my belly was.. she was so embarrassed that she helped get my groceries out of the cart.

I hate it when I get the evil eye from old ladies... I can't wear my wedding rings because my hands are so swollen and every time I am out shopping I get the stink eye from old ladies.... some even try to tell me how wrong it is to bring a child into this world out of wedlock.... usually at that point I pull out my necklace that holds my wedding rings and say 'You were saying?' .. usually at that point they get all red in the face....

Our grocery store doesn't have the expectant mother parking, but they do have it for customers with children.  I use it anyway.  My feet frickin hurt right now and it takes me ages to get where I'm going.

I feel so exhausted around judgy people.

Are you freaking serious??  I haven't been wearing mine for months now, and I haven't had anyone look at me like that.  Or I just haven't noticed  bc I feel like a blimp and avoid all eye contact ;)

I was a little concerned about going to church out of state a couple months ago.  Clearly pregnant, no rings, and the homily that day was about unwed pregnant women!  I spent the whole mass thinking everyone was staring at me :(

Until it requires a special license plate, it's really just a marketing technique that the store uses. Not worth getting our depends in a twist, lady!

This is what I was thinking.  I swear 75% of the people parking in "handicapped" spots walk better than I do at 9 months pregnant!

My shoprite has only 1 pregnancy spot and its always full and I know its those old ladies who use it and rarely is it a pregnant person....so its usually me giving the stink eye to the old ladies who use it as handicapped spot!

I would have told her I was wearing a fake belly so I could use the expectant mother's spot whenever I wanted. LOL!

My grandmother once spent a year throwing a fit over the size of the triangle flags that the local car dealership used. She joined the city council and fought tooth and nail to get them to make the flags smaller. 

I will fully relish the day that so little is happening in my life that I can stand and wait for a mother to exit her car so I can shame her for using a parking space, or piss away a year barking about the size of triangle flags. Right now I am just to busy with life to imagine my life being so laxidasical  that I could indulge in my asshattery.

I actually get this all of the time from guests at work. I am finishing my second degree at the University full time and work as a server on nights and weekends. My hands are going through swelling cycles and I have to take my wedding and engagement rings off. When people notice that I'm pregnant they ALWAYS look to my ring finger. Some give me dirty looks. If I notice, the next time I come to the table I have the rings on the outside of my shirt on their necklace. Even if I wasn't married who are they to judge? I'm in my mid/late twenties and can make my own decisions thank you very much.

I usually don't like parking in them just because so far my pregnancy is really easy and I'm not waddling... yet! But I went to Trader Joe's yesterday and they have SO few spots to park in my husband made me take the maternity spot to leave the regular spots open for the other people fighting for parking. I can't believe she was so rude! What does it matter to her, she's not pregnant so it's not like she would've parked there anyways.

[I am bad though and usually assume whoever is parked in the one spot at TJ's isn't actually pregnant. I don't really care whether they are or not but my go to assumption is that they aren't.]

Speaking of "Expectant Mothers" parking, our BRU has about 6 Expectant Mothers parking spaces. They're off to the side of the parking lot, farther away from the door than the normal parking spaces. It's so silly! I never park in any of them because they're so far away!
