Maple...for a girl?

What do you guys think of Maple?

DH and I love maple syrup (especially from Canada) and we were bouncing ideas around the other day for LO#2 since we'll definitely have a girl next time!!!11!!

Is Maple too Canadian sounding? I'm from the states so you know...don't want to be too out there or anything.

The first thing that comes to mind is Ashley Judd's character, Lexie, from "Where the Heart Is." She named all of her children after her favorite snack foods.

"Brownie, Praline, Cherry, and Baby Ruth."

No. Maple is too masculine for a girl. I hate when people try to unisex names that are classic and traditional to one gender.

DH and I love perogies, especially from Poland. We're thinking about naming our lo Perogie but worry its too polish. WDYT?

Although in all honesty, I don't mind the name Maple, and I find it more feminine than masculine. For some reason to me it sounds like a legit old lady name, but that's probably just because of Miss Maple. :-)

I am canadian...and if a canadian named thier kid maple....I would lmfao! Thats like...naming your kid stars and stripes. I think since your not in canada you could get away with it, but its the same catagory as all the other tree names which I think are all kind of odd. (Aspen, Birch, etc...).

I would totally call the kid Maple Syrup...or just Syrup since I like to tease.
