Electric shock feeling to cervix in second trimester?

Hi gals!

Has anyone ever felt an electric shock-like feeling, or stabbing pain, to their cervix? I think it might be called lighning croctch. I told my doctor about it at the 16 week checkup and she said she's concerned I'm having this pain so early. Apparently, she doesn't think it should start until 36 weeks. She cconfirmed my cervix is firm, but still she freaked me out! Should I be worried? Has anyone ever had this feeling thish early? If it was later in my pregnancy, I'd think it was the baby kicking me, but I haven't felt the baby move yet.

Thank you!

Lightening crotch.  It's part of RLP and it's common.  Enjoy :)

Really not sure why your OB is so concerned about it. It's super normal, many women experience it throughout their pregnancy.

Thanks ladies! I guess I shouldn't be worried. Hopefully the next doctor I see is more familiar with it!

Yeah I agree that's weird she was concerned. I asked my OB about it last time and she said it's baby pushing on the cervix but doesn't mean she's about to pop out or anything!

OMG!  I didn't know there was a name for it!  I had this last week.  My midwife said that it can occur when the baby's head moves across the cervix and that it was nothing to worry about.

I thought it was just my baby kicking straight down, which he/she does frequently
