ovulation to period length

I have been charting my cycle & using OPKs for the last 2 months.  I noticed that I only have 11 or 12 days from ovulation to period instead of the normal 14 days.  Is 11 or 12 days still considered normal?  Does a short ovulation to period phase affect getting pregnant?

9 or fewer days is considered short.

11 - 12 days is fine.

Yes, it is normal. No, it does not affect getting KU.

Without temping you won't know 100% when you ovulate... but 11 or 12 days is not an issue. Even an occasional short LP (under 10 days) isn't uncommon.

TTC#2 Since July 2011
Me: 29, had two blocked tubes - left was cleared during lap&dye, right was unable to be cleared. PCOS & Stage 2 Endo. DH: 31, SA = perfect.
CLOMID: 4 rounds, 50mg + TI = BFN's.
FEMARA: 1 round = no response.
12-24-2012 : Laparoscopy, Softball sized cyst/endo/scar tissue removed.
Cycle #14 - Feb 2013 : 50mg clomid. Ovidrel Trigger. IUI on 2/14/13 = thin lining, multiple cysts.
Cycle #15 - no meds, still have cysts, no follicles. Boo!
Forced break. Continuous BCP for 6 weeks to give my jacked up ovaries a break.
Cycle #16 actively trying: May/June plan: Femara, Ovidrel Trigger, IUI! Bring iiiiit!

I know you got your answer but I wanted to chime in. My LP was only 11 days with my oldest. My pregnancy was normal. Good luck!

Average is 14 days, but normal is anywhere between 10-16, so you are very normal.

Implantation usually occurs between 6-12 days, so a short LP (considered under 9) is a problem because the egg doesn't have a chance to implant. You are fine at 11-12 days. My current LP is 12 days, I'm not worried.

It's all been covered but I also figured I'd share that when I got pregnant with DS I had a 11 to 12 day LP. And my pregnancy was normal. Hope that gives some comfort.
