Version for Breech Baby

Anyone had a version for a breech baby? Did it work? How long did it take? How bad was it?

If this baby stays breech, I'll have to make a decision in a week or so about whether to do a version. I know it's safe and very effective for STM+, but I'm very nervous about it.

I had one at 36 weeks and it was successful!  I was a good candidate though - STM, plenty of fluid, and the baby was high up.

It was not comfortable - but it was not nearly as bad as I expected it to be.

I've never had a version done, but wanted to pop in and say there are other things you can do right now before you have to resort to a version.  Simple things like sitting in the right position, spinningbabies.com has great suggestions, also being adjusted by a chiropractor trained in Webster technique is super effective, acupuncture is another option.  You may know all of this already, but JIC :)

I wanted to do one but because of high BP my dr wouldn't do it. However, my baby just turned this week at 37 weeks. I did lots and lots of floor exercises. Had my but in the air while my chest was on the floor. And on my back with my hips elevated. I also did the cold at the top of my belly. I think it was the floor exercises if anything. But I wouldn't have had any idea he moved. Everything feels exactly the same.
Trust in your dr. They wouldn't do the ecv if it wasn't safe. Good luck!

Yes

I would be doing all of this, even if I looked silly doing it. :P

I have no personal experience with it, but for both people I know who've had it done, it sent them into labor and the baby didn't turn, so they both had emergency c-sections.

The baby can still turn at 40 weeks after labor starts. If you are not comfortable doing it then dont. My LO was breech until two days ago, I thought I felt her flip, and the Dr confirmed it yesterday, just hoping she stays that way.

I had it done with ds at 37 weeks. The procedure itself was minutes however it took several hours both before and after it which was annoying. They turned him after a few tries and it worked. The pain was tollerable. Not fun but not as bad as I expected. I would def try it again if needed If u want to try for a vaginal birth I say go for it!!
