What do you think? I'm not pregnant, but I was just thinking of Les Mis and how much I like this name! Think it will spike in popularity after the movie comes out?

There have been many version of Les Mis made into movies... I don't know why this one would cause a spike any more than the others.

I like the name Cosette, but if we're picking Les Mis names we like, I'm totally going with Eponine and Marius.  I lurve Marius (not really applicable here in the girl name genre, obviously... haha!)

I have always thought it was pretty, and yes, I do see a potential spike in its popularity.

I could see a slight increase in popularity but definitly not a top ten like Twilight did for Isabella or anything. It's an alright name for me. Wouldn't use it personally but wouldn't side-eye it.

It may.  Just like Katniss is apparently a name people are using now.  A mom on my BMB named her daughter Cosette and she's so cute!  I like the name, but it would probably be more of a GP name for me.

Totally agree with this!!  Eponine is a waaay better character too!! 
December 2011: Missed m/c due to trisomy 13 (conceived naturally)... January 2012: DH and I found out we are both cystic fibrosis carriers... April 2012: First IVF with PGD cycle resulted in ectopic pg (May 2012)... August 2012: Second IVF with PGD cycle resulted in BFP... TWIN GIRLS!!! Lilypie First Birthday tickers

Right?  She's so heartbreaking in so many ways.  Crappy parents, loves a guy who doesn't love her... Little Fall of Rain is her end and yet the happiest she has probably ever been.

I did NOT know Colm was supposed to be in the movie, Zimger!  I've been trying to avoid the previews ever since the first one had Anne Hathway horribly singing "I Dreamed a Dream."  But this news makes me interested again!

I think the name might spike in popularity a bit, but not top ten. It's such a pretty name.

Yes!! Makes me want to cry just thinking about it. I cried buckets during "On My Own" and at Eponine's death scene the first time I saw the stage musical. I also much prefer her songs/voice to Cosette's.  Sigh.

I have not seen Les Mis and would think it was strange if I saw this name on a girl who is not French.  It's pretty though.

Yes, I was very happy to know he was invoved with the movie! I think it will be okay. Nothing can beat watching the real thing though!

I really hope the movie causes a spike in beautiful French names because I've always loved Cosette, Eponine and Marius all! I would love to see any of them on real children. Very classy.

I love the name and I love les mis....

I honestly don't think it will spike because of the movie...its not really everyone's cup of tea and I don't see it being a blockbuster fave type movie no matter how many of us here like it...

If it does spike in popularity I think it will be much more for the reason that its a beautiful name, not because a yet another new remake has come out.

If you are really concerned about it, what do you think about Lisette? I love that name as well.
