Vitamin D Drops?

My Ped. advised me to get Vitamin D drops for DD.. I was wondering if anyone has a good recommendation on drops you may use for your baby?. I was looking at the enfamil vitamin D drops on their website and I was reading the reviews and mothers were disapointed that there is artificial coloring and perservatives in it.. So I kinda backed out of that.. now I am not sure. Any recommendation on which drops are good and where I can purchase would be great thanks!

We use the Enfamil D-Visol but my dr also recommended the Tri-Visol. She said either is fine. My LO never had an issue when them.

Oh, and we just got them at Rite Aid in the vitamin section.  It's a dropper.

A lurker with a question: Our pediatrician gave us a prescription for vitamin D drops today. I tried giving them to LO (who is 2wks old exactly) and she promptly spit out the entire dose of the smelly, yellow liquid. Any ideas how to get her to swallow them? Thanks.

Get the Carlson's D drops

it's one drop on your nipple or in baby's mouth

no artificial laundry list of things. Baby does't need the other stuff that is in those drops.  breastmilk has everythig else.

I second the Carlson's Super Daily D3 drops. It's super easy, and like pp said, just one drop a day. We've only been using it for a few days, but so far so good! LO actually seems to like it too :)

We got them at Super Supplements.

We do the Tri-Vi-Sol drops- aim the dropper towards baby's cheek and then insert the pacifier to help the liquid stay in her mouth.

If you want all natural and preservative-free liquid Vitamin D in just 1 drop per day, then you need to look for the original Baby Ddrops (by the Ddrops Company).  Here's a list of retailers and online drugstores that carry them in the US.  http://www.ddrops.ca/blog/2012/02/29/baby-ddrops-is-now-available-in-the-u-s-a/

We do the DViSol now and DD actually likes it but when this bottle runs out we will switch to the D Drops as one drop is easier than a whole dropper full. plus we got a bottle of D Drops at the shower.

Just an FYI, not ever baby needs Vit D supplements. I've never been told to give them by pediatricians or lactation consultants.

http://kellymom.com/nutrition/vitamins/vitamin-d/

If I needed to give them, I would go w/ the Carlsons or something w/ JUST the vitamin.

We use these too. And because my LO really likes the taste, I save his daily dose for a crying spell. I do the drops, then pop in his pacifier. Quiets him right down.

This! I even went against my doc's rec for TriViSol and am doing straight Carlsons. I use Carlson's for my toddler too.

Thanks for the advice, especially re: the vitamin D-only drops. I tried the suggested "aim the drops in her cheek and quickly give a pacifier" method, but she just spit out the liquid aruond the pacifier. I plan on trying again in case it was my technique, but will most likely be ordering the D-only drops.
