CF mutation

I'm a carrier. Didn't know until now because we didn't test for it with DD (oops).

Here's to hoping that DH's Jewish lineage wins out over his Caucasian genes when he gets tested.

Blah. I know I'm probably worrying for nothing.

: I'm sorry you are worrying about this.

My SIL found out she was a carrier when she was pregnant as well. Her DH was not. My DH was tested before we TTC because we knew his sis was a carrier. DH is as well, so I was tested too. I am not.

Fingers crossed for you.

I'm a carrier too, with no known family history. It was pretty shocking. But luckily, Spouse is not a carrier, at least of the most common mutations of course, so that was a huge sigh of relief. I was pretty much hoping the same thing, that his Cape Verdean roots would win out over his Caucasian genes! You'll get the results soon. And don't forget, even if he is a carrier, there's still only a 25% chance that your baby will actually have CF, so there is still a great chance of a perfectly healthy baby!

I'm a carrier of a mutation as well. DH is not. Try not to stress. The chance that you both have the same mutation is very, very small, and even if you do, there's still only a 25 chance the baby will have CF.

I am going next week for my testing.  Apparently something showed up in my bloodwork/ultrasound at my last appointment and my doctor has referred me to a maternal fetal doctor.  Have to have the testing and an ultrasound.  I was a nervous wreck for about a week after finding out.  Now, I'm just ready to know.

How long does it usually take to get the results?
