Feeling like I can't get enough air

I think this is a really weird question, but about every other day I go for long bouts (almost the whole day) where I feel like I need to yawn (but not because I'm tired.) It feels like I need more air.  I yawn and feel better for a few minutes and then the feeling comes back.  Does anyone know what this is?

DX= unexplained infertility
Cycle 19-20 On BCP, shutting down the ovaries
Cycle 21- monitored Gonal-f injections + HCG trigger = BFN
Cycle 22- 3 weeks of BCP + Gonal-f + HCG trigger = BFN
Cycle 23- 3 weeks of BCP + Gonal-f + HCG trigger - BFP!

I can't see how far along you are but the positioning of the baby can make breathing harder. Both boys are high with their butts up so I feel like I can't get a good breath.

How's your posture?

This has happened to me for the last few years, I recently foun out its a mild heart defect I have always had I guess, but just gets worse as you get older. It's annoying for sure! I'm sure there are numerous reasons to get this, maybe something with the extra blood flow the hearts pumping during pregnancy? I'm only making the connection cause mines associated with the heart pumping blood slightly off from what it should.

I had this and it turned out that I had a subglotic tracheal stenosis that required surgery. If you are having trouble breathing, get an appointment with your GP ASAP. First they tested me for asthma, then I saw an ENT, then finally they did a bronchoscopy and found the large growth of scar tissue that was slowing closing my trachea. I guess with the hormones in pregnancy, the scar tissue grew a lot.

I've had this same problem but I've been told that the baby can press up against your diaphragm and at times, your sinuses might swell while you're pregnant making it worse.

It happened to me when I was further along.  My mom developed asthma with her first pregnancy, though, so you never know.

I totally understand u i have been feeling the same way and i will 27 weeks tomorrow. i woke up one night gasping for air...smh really dont kno where its coming from however its scary to me i will talk with my dr on my next appointment!!!

I've had this feeling before as well. 

One of the things that REALLY helps is Prenatal Yoga. Anytime I feel sleepy, like yawning, or like I can't get enough air, I take a few minutes to do some of the easy yoga stretches, and my oxygen intake is MUCH better.

I hope things feel better soon!

Something like this started happening to me around week 21.  It feels like a small gasp for air, kind of in the hiccup family, if that makes any sense.  Sometimes it would happen every 10 minutes and sometimes I could go for awhile without noticing it.  I was seen by both a doctor and a midwife about it and they told me it was nothing to worry about and that it may just be one of those strange pregnancy things.  That didn't exactly comfort me, but I've been dealing with it.

That will probably last your whole pregnancy. I was having a really difficult time taking deep breaths because of baby. I bought a prenatal yoga dvd and that has really helped my breathing..
