Strollers - 3 wheels or 4?

I'm researching strollers and noticed that a few of the models I'm interested in come in both 3-wheel and 4-wheel configurations. Specifically, Baby Jogger City Mini and City Select, Britax B-Agile, and iCandy Apple.

We live in an urban area where it doesn't make sense to own a car. So we do a lot of walking on cobblestone sidewalks that are often uneven. Some paved paths. A lot of off-road walking with the dog. We're not really jogging/running. And need to be able to get on/off transit easily.

If you have experience with any of these strollers -- what are the advantages/disadvantages of having 3 wheels vs. 4? Do you have one configuration and wish you had another?

We have a britax B-agile. I love the three wheel configuration. That front wheel swivels but can be locked in place with your foot which is awesome when you're going over a surface that isn't very smooth (grass, sand, cobblestone). Its really easy to maneuver with one hand also!

I have a 4 wheel uppa baby Cruz and a city mini, I live in Brooklyn so always walking. I will say the 3 wheel is way easier to use and the city mini is so easy to fold. I would go w/3 wheels. It is still a bit heavy if you take the train.  So I have an umbrella stroller with a strap for that!

Hypothyroid/Fibroids/Stage 4 Endometriosis

10/2010 Open myomectomy to remove 3 fibroids largest @ 8 inches. Stage 4 endometriosis and inoperable/blocked left tube.

3/2011 Laporoscopy/Hysteroscopy. 3 endometrioma cysts, hydrosalpinx, left tube and half of the left ovary removed.

5/2011 IUI #1 medicated w/injections, 1 follie = BFP!

6/2011 Blighted Ovum/ D&C

9/2011 IUI #2 medicated w/injections, 2 follies = BFP!

I can't compare 3 vs 4 wheels of the same style, but we have the 3-wheel B-Agile and it is much more maneuverable than all of the 4-wheel styles I've used, even recently.  I find it easier to use one hand and navigate uneven terrain, and it's also easier for me to get it up/down stairs with the single large front wheel versus two smaller front wheels.

We just had your basic 4 wheel travel system stroller when DS1 was a baby and I recently broke down and bought a city mini 3 wheel and I wish we would have has the money for the city mini the first time around. It's sooo much easier to push around.

Cobblestones and bumpy road I prefer our three wheel strOller. Better for up and down curbs too. Flat paved surfaces I think our 4 is fine.
