21 weeks and can still barely feel baby!

It wasn't until 20 weeks that I was CERTAIN that I felt my LO.  During my ultrasound I saw the little guy kicking and then felt this little pop that I now know is a kick.  However, I still didn't notice it every day and it wasn't until the 21st week that I felt something at least once a day.  I really thought I'd be feeling kicks more often and more definitely by now.  What has everyone else experienced?

I think some people can feel the baby early but some people don't feel baby until later. With my 1st I had an anterior placenta and didn't feel her until 28 weeks. My second I felt at 16 weeks but not consistently (like daily) until the end of 2nd tri. This time I felt the baby at 12 weeks. No lie. 12 weeks. But only once a day or every few days until later into the 2nd tri again.

You still have a lot of room in there and baby is still pretty small, don't worry yet!

I know its hard not to worry when you can't feel LO, I get that way when it goes from active one week and very little the next. But honestly, as long as your getting some movement its okay, and at 21 weeks it would not be abnormal to maybe have a day where you might miss the movements here in there because your active or sleeping. At least that't what these fine ladies on the boards tell me so I hope it helps. And im 26 wk tomorrow and still have days where I get maybe 1 good solid kick and a couple where I couldn't be certain or only feel them internally.

Same boat over here! I see my Little Guy being very active at the doc, but don't really feel it. Sometimes I do, and then when it does happen, hubby misses it. lol

I've read in multiple places and heard from my doctor that it is completely normal to not even feel movements at all until at least week 22 so the fact that you're feeling movements is great!

Some of the ladies on my month board (March 2013) also just told another mom that it's completely normal to not feel regular daily movements until week 28.

I've been feeling movements for about two weeks now. Moreso over the last week. I feel movements on and off all day long. Sometimes it feels like a fish is rolling around in my belly and other times like popcorn popping. The kicks and jabs aren't very strong yet but they're there. I'm sure the day will come when I don't feel the baby move at all and I will panic as well. But I've been told by sooo many others that this is normal and fine.

I hope you start feeling movements more regularly from now on to help ease your mind!

I'm 19w1d, and I haven't felt a thing. It's very frustrating, but at my u/s 2 weeks ago, LO was kicking up a storm. I know he's fine. It's just my stupid anterior placenta. Booo. Do you know if you have an anterior placenta?

Hi,

I'm a FTM and almost 27 weeks and experienced the same thing...first movement was at 18 weeks, and I'd feel movement once in a while until regularly at 20-21 weeks...then it slowed down a lot for a couple weeks, now non-stop again! On my BMB we were all talking about it and it seemed really normal for every to have a "lull" in movement around 20-22 weeks ish. I would say nothing to worry about. I also seen CRAZY amounts of movement on both ultrasounds, and whenever we listen to the heart beat with the doppler the baby kicks at it and the DR. pointed out the random thumps off beat was the baby actually kicking where the probe was pointed, but I couldn't feel it yet....Sorry, started rambling lol.

I didn't feel anything until 22 weeks with DS.  It's completely normal at this stage not to feel much, or even anything at all. Remember, baby is still pretty little in there.

I wouldn't worry, it was probably within the last two weeks that I was constantly feeling LO. I was beginning to think something was wrong when I'd hear people say they felt theirs at like 16 weeks.

With my first pregnancy I was about 20 weeks before I felt my daughter move.  Now with my second pregnancy, I've been feeling movement for about 2 1/2 weeks (I am 19 weeks), at least once a day. However, I was really busy on saturday and felt no movement at all for over 24 hours so I was really worried. I relaxed yesterday and felt my little kicker. I asked my Dr about movement and she said that some women don't feel their babies move until they are 22 or 23 weeks along.  And she said not to worry if you don't feel movement everyday and that once I am 24 weeks I should be feeling movement everyday.  If after 24 weeks you aren't feeling movement every day that is when it becomes worrisome apparently.  I think it's also different if this is your first pregnancy. I'm sure with my first pregnancy my daughter moved much more than I realized that I just thought it was gas.

With DD, I had an anterior placenta and didn't feel her strongly for a long time, so it was surprising to feel this LO so early--about 15-16 weeks (wasn't entirely sure at first).  However, my u/s confirmed this is not an anterior placenta, and this is my 2nd child, so it's understandable.  And fun to feel her so early!  But your current experience is like my first--it's totally understandable.  Hang in there--the kicks will get stronger and you'll be completely astounded by how strong the little one is getting.

I feel LO a lot some days and not much at all the next.  I think it's still early.  Depends on the position of the baby and how much room it has in there.  I feel you b/c I think about it everyday but every one feels things at different times.

Lol. Same here! I think it is too cute when the baby kicks back or kicks at things placed on your tummy. It's like its saying "What is that moving out there?!" "Get that outta here!"

28 weeks? I was told I have an anterior placenta with this pregnancy and knew it would mean I would feel baby kick later...but I am so disappointed it might not be until 28 weeks.

Oh well, I am glad I have a heads up, though -- so thanks.
