baby wearing #1 while pregnant with #2

Did you or are you still baby wearing while pregnant with number 2? I had the moby (PITA) and the bjorne. I stopped wearing him for a few reasons. For one, the bjorne got to be really uncomfortable on my back because of his weight (he's probably about 21 lbs now, but it started to bother my back when he was only 17/18 lbs), but also I was worried about him kicking backwards into my belly. I have been wanting to get the Ergo but haven't pulled the trigger on it yet. Do any of you back carry? I figure, it's got to be better than just slinging him on my hip all the time and he seems to be going through a clingy phase, so I need something! He always liked to be carried and forward facing in both of my other carriers, so I guess I'm a little nervous about the Ergo without a forward facing option other than carrying on my back. Thoughts, opinons, suggestions? Thanks!

I have an Ergo and I stopped using it with #1 when I was about 15 weeks with #2.  I just didn't like the way the belt fit around my belly. I was mainly back carrying. (And it may have just been my body shape too.)  However now I LOVE my ergo for #2.  I didn't like using it with the infant insert b/c it was so bulky but now it's great.

I think maybe a ring sling on you hip for #1 might be the easiest during pregnancy.

My #1 older than yours so I wasn't doing a lot of carries while pregnant but I did bust out the Ergo for a trip to the outlet mall when I was 34ish weeks and wore my 2.5y/o on my back for a few hours without difficulty, the belt was below the belly.  You are not going to be comfortable with a forward facing carry of a big kid, your center of gravity is already farther forward that is likely comfortable, add another 21# and you are not going to be happy with your back.

We visited the Mint with my Mom when I was 8 months pregnant and she was visiting from out of state.  They do not allow strollers.

I used the Moby (yes... it's a pain) for a hip carry and a back carry for my then 15 month old because there was no way I was going to chase him all over the Mint with that big a belly but my Mom really wanted to take the tour.

Not something I would do daily but it worked in a pinch when strollers were not allowed.

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.

I am really short bodied.  I had to stop carrying DS (back carry) in my beco (like the ergo) early in the first trimester. It put too much pressure on my abdomen to be comfortable. I think the ring sling might be a good idea.  I'm looking into getting one for nursing LO #2 while on the move.

I'm still carrying 1 in the front with the ergo and on the hip with the ring sling. He's not a fan of the stroller so it's not looking like I have a choice in the matter.

28 weeks here and I'm still wearing DD on my back and hip. I'm using my Toddler Tula and my ring sling. I'm hoping to wear as long as possible as I find it much easier than using a stroller.

My son is around 22-23 lbs.  I can carry him on my back in the Ergo (I'm big enough that the band can go under my belly.  My back will be a little sore after carrying DS for 45 minutes, but it is doable for short trips.  I think I will try hip carrying next because I don't see carrying him on my back for much longer.

If you are looking into getting an Ergo, they pop up on babysteals.com for 50% quite often.

I love love love my Ergo. But I had to stop wearing DS in it fairly early on in this pregnancy - maybe 8-10 weeks - because I just got too nauseous from the pressure of his body on me.

I could probably do it now if it weren't for this crazy back pain I'm experiencing this go around. I'm under orders to not even pick him up unless absolutely necessary.   :(

If I were you I'd try using a ring sling for when you need to pick him up. It is much better for you than holding him...I had bad back pain for a while before going to the chyro and the ring sling helped so much.

I wore DS until I was 39 weeks. During the last few weeks, the only comfortable ways to carry him were in a ring sling with his leg over my bump, or in a Kinderpack back carry under my bump. Back carries in a wrap are sooo comfy but I couldn't wrap properly & my DS was in the constant up/down mode by that point. Front carries completely stopped around 14ish weeks, but I could pick him up & kind of "sit" him on my bump if I had to for a minute.

I'm 28 weeks and still wearing DD on my back in the ergo to walk the dogs or for short trips out.  I have a long torso so maybe that helps?  I'm still quite comfortable in it and the strap fits snug beneath my belly, but doesn't strain it at all.
