Antibiotics

So, I have had a horrible sore throat since Friday.  I'm a teacher and 5 kids in my class have had strep these past few weeks.  I'm assuming its going to be positive.  I have an appointment at 1:00.  What should I be asking the dr. about antibiotics?  Is it safe?  I'm 13 weeks.  I also called the nurse at my OB office.  Just wondering what everyone else has done?  I'm a FTM.  Are there certain ones?

Your doctor will prescribe the appropriate antibiotic.  Just make sure he/she knows that you are pregnant.

I was 11 weeks when I got strep throat.  The Dr put me on Amoxicilin (sp?) for 10 days.  Tomorrow will be my last day taking it.  That and cough drops have really helped me.  Sorry you are sick, it really bites to be sick when you are pregnant!!!

I was also diagnosed with step at about 5 weeks and was prescribed Amoxicillian.  All is well.  Your doctor will only give you treatment that is safe for the baby.
