Keeping up milk supply while working

Today was my first day back at work and I'm pumping. I'm also able to go visit my daughter at lunch to nurse. Another mother at work told me that even though I am pumping, my milk supply will diminish some because I'm not with my daughter. Are there any suggestions  to keep up my milk supply while working?

Nurse often when you're home with baby, stay very hydrated, relax as much as possible while pumping. Some people pump more if they relax by listening to favorite music and looking at photos of LO. Also try to stick to a predictable pumping schedule as closely as possible.
I pumped at work fulltime from 9 weeks to 12 months without any issues keeping up. It can be done.

All of these are great suggestions. I'd also add lactation cookies...I found a recipe on All Recipes. Oatmeal and fenugreek. There is also a lactation tea.

A tea called, Mother's Milk. I drank 3 cups the first day and then as needed..helped lots! Or brew a bunch and drink it throughout the day..also make sure you are drinking lots of water!

Stay well hydrated and nurse while you are together.  I have been pumping at work for 5 weeks now and haven't noticed much of a supply change.  I actually still have my morning oversupply and end up having enough for daycare and put 6-10oz in the freezer every day.

Well, that wasn't very helpful of her!

Many mothers are able to go back to work, pump, and make it to a year or longer.  It's true that you may see a bit of a drop, but it likely won't be significant. PPs have already given you some good advice. One thing I'll add is that you may see that by the end of a work week, you aren't pumping as much as you did earlier in the week. But after a weekend of exclusive nursing, you'll often pump more milk on Monday.

One thing that worked for me was to nurse DS when I dropped him off with the sitter, so that we got one more nursing session in.

Good luck!
