Reflux Baby

The pediatrician told me that my LO has reflux. He seems to spit up easily, and in general, just be fussy. The only solution that the doctor gave was to give him a pacifier, since the sucking calms and soothes the reflux. Does anyone have any tips? He is almost 4 weeks, and I am ebfing.

Our twins have reflux. I would say try to keep him upright for at least 20 min after he eats. Our babies are bottle fed. Swings and chairs work well to keep them upright after they eat and to sleep in so they aren't uncomfortable. Also, if it gets too bad make sure to ask about a possible milk intolerance (as in dairy, maybe try cutting it out of your diet) and possibly Zantac if it gets too bad.

Is the baby gaining weight well?

I have a reflux baby and dd 1 was also slightly a reflux baby too, but this one is worse. We started on Zantac, added prevacid, now just prevacid and that has helped her discomfort quite a bit. DD1 wasn't on meds as hers was mild but we kept her upright about 20 min after eating, sleeping on incline until about 3 months old.  and yes both babies were quite chunky!

Weight gain hasn't been a problem..he gained 24oz in 2 weeks, and the pediatrician was extremely pleased
