I am a GA teacher & the insurance I had was United Healthcare HMO plan. You could not meet your deductable from Doctor visit copays so when I had my Lap surgery via OB-GYN last December I had to pay over $3,000 OOP. Also the HMO does not cover any out of network. I want to go to the center for endometriosis in Atlanta but they are out of network so that made things impossible.
I changed my insurance during open enrollment to United Healthcare Wellness HRA. You can meet your dedcutable with this plan through co pays and they cover 60% out of network. Of course there is no infertility coverage but none of our state insurance plans offer infertility insurance coverage. I hope I made the right decision.
Health insurance is so confusing and frustrating. I'm sure you did the right thing so you can now see the doctors that you want to see.
good luck!
