painful belly button

Seriously?! The area of my belly button kills!!! I know my skin is stretching, etc. etc. but I don't remember this at all during the last 2 pregnancies. My innie has never become an outie either... is it going to pop out and that's what's causing the pain? So strange!!!

I normally have any innie but it becomes an outie when I'm pregnant (this time, earlier than last).  The problem, I think, is that skin which is normally not exposed is suddenly and unexpectedly subject to all sorts of irritation (from your clothes, picking up your other kids, etc.).  That said, I don't have any solutions to the problem short of delivery.

I'm with you. I have diastasis recti, so my abdomen muscles are separating which I think weakens my belly button? It doesn't always hurt, but I have near constant soreness just to the top left of my belly button.

I have the same problem. My belly button has been super sensitive and sore the past 4 weeksI'm 37 weeks. I don't have an outie except for a little area where I apparently have a tiny umbilical hernia. My coworker is 32 weeks with her 3rd baby, and she had a painful belly button with her 2nd pregnancy, but not the 1st or her current one. I wish I had a real solution. I just rub it like crazy when it starts hurting and the pain goes away.

Edit: please excuse the runon sentence. I'm on my phone and special characters won't show up when I post.

I also have a painful belly button area :)

My seems to be the area around my belly button and not the belly button itself...strange. I usually attribute it to stretching, but sometimes I feel something hard in one spot, and at first I thought maybe it was a hernia because it was painful when I pressed it; however, the hard spot responds to prodding and moves, so apparently its baby!

I am having twins, so it is very hard sometimes to know where each one is and what part of their bodies is where lol!
