Dollar store HPT?

Would you trust a dollar store hpt? I have an appt with an infertility specialist tomorrow, and i plan on taking one more hpt in the am just to be sure (i am about 12DPO) but i only have one dollar store hpt and one digital. i've been saving the digital for confirming a BFP.... do i need to buy a better quality test? i tested yesterday (11dpo) and still got a BFN but i feel different this cycle. might just be me with realllllyyy high hopes lol.

Yes. I got my BFP with DD on them. They are reliable pink dye tests.

Dollar store HPT's are as sensitive as FRER's.

ETA: If you want to learn about the different sensitivity of tests this is a great link

I would trust one but FRER's are more sensitive then the dollar store HPT's.  I would take a FRER over a dollar store HPT.

YES!  They are more accurate than most other tests.  With my first we tried for a year and a half.  It was getting very expensive.  I did some research and found that they are very reliable.

At peeonastick.com it says the older ones are 12.5 but the newer ones are 25. Do you have a source? I could be wrong, and will admit if I am Wink

ETA: Sorry, peeonastick.com says that they're 15 mIU/ml but says it's from third party sources. FRER doesn't publish how sensitive they are, I guess.

I'm trying to find where I read it, it was a while back.  I tried to pull up peeonastick.com but my work has it blocked as "sex education" LOL.  I could be wrong too and sorry if I am, I will stand corrected! Smile

ETA - Here is what I was reading http://www.cbsnews.com/2100-500165_162-538075.html but it's from 2009 and it says that it detected HCG levels *as low as* 6.5mIU/ml, sorry my reading fail...I stand corrected. Embarrassed

I don't want to hijack the thread, but does anybody know the sensitivity of Wondfos?  I looked on peeonastick.com and couldn't find it.

I received a positive on a dollar store pregnancy test and later had a negative urine pregnancy test at my doctor's office. They had to do a blood test to confirm what the dollar store test told me a week prior, that yes I was indeed pregnant.  So yes, I personally trust them!

The best is when you buy 5-8 of them at a time....the clerk looks at you weird...

I just picked some up today in fact...cheap to pee on, and easy to buy...I have a digi to confirm later
