I wouldn't worry too much about this.
U/S techs aren't allowed to give you much to go on. They aren't doctors, and they could get in a mountain of trouble for even guaranteeing the gender. I'm an RN, and this is my first baby, so I questioned everything the tech was doing, not because I thought her to be stupid, but because I was curious as to what I saw. She pointed out things like bladder, heart, etc, and I was able to make out some things for myself (Such as the chambers of the heart, valves, that kind of thing). Anyway, they're not allowed to do anything really, but take the pictures.
They explained to me that if they couldn't get all the measurements they needed/wanted, then I would need to come back for them to try again. At the end of mine, they had a hard time getting a full view of the spine, so they had me empty my bladder and walk around a little. I felt her flip again, and she was able to get the spine. If she couldn't they were going to get me to come back.
She left the room, saying she wanted to run all the measurements by the Dr, and then she came back, said the Dr said we were ok to leave, and that was that. She may know what all the measurements are supposed to be, but shes not allowed to tell you "all is well." That is the Dr's job. :)
