Is anybody else in 3rd tri still sleeping on their stomach?

Just curious. My doctor said the keep it up as long as its comfortable, and as long as I am laying on a pillow it is pretty comfy.

On a hot summer night, would you offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses?
--Yes.
I bet you say that to all the boys!

That's crazy!  My belly is sooo huge, there is no way I could sleep on it.  I wish I could because that is the only way I can truly sleep well.  With this pregnancy, I had to switch to my side around 14 weeks to sleep....haven't gotten a good night's sleep since!  :-p

I'm sorry but your doctor is ridiculous. Doing that at this point is not safe for the baby, comfortable or not.

I agree, I'm really confused how that can be safe at all. And how that is at all comfortable.

What...  How...  I don't even...  Maybe because I'm 5'2", short-waisted, and this baby is a bit big.  But the PHYSICS, man, the PHYSICS!  It's like balancing a board on a beach ball.  And though I want very little more than to sprawl out on my tummy and take a nap, it's a physical impossibility for me (though DH did get me a prenatal massage for my birthday, so maybe...)

I start sleeping on my side, but always wake up on my stomach or back. My husband wakes me up sometimes to make me move, but I can't exactly help it. My doctor has had no concerns about me being on my back so far, but I'm going to ask about my stomach at my appt today.

I wake up almost every night and find myself on my stomach. The fact that it got uncomfortable is what wakes me and I change positions, but yes, I still sleep on my stomach. No big deal as long as I'm not uncomfortable.

My doctor gave me the same advice - sleep however I want as long as it's comfortable. He said that I would get uncomfortable way before baby would. I fall asleep on my side but wake up in the morning on my back or stomach.

I kind of sleep half on my tummy.  I throw my leg over a body pillow and tuck the edge of it under my belly so that's how I end up kind of half on, half off.

It's still safe to sleep on your tummy as long as it's comfortable for you.  You're not crushing the baby or anything.  It's amazing how our bodies are capable of letting us know when something isn't right.

It's safe because you can sort of cushion your belly with pillows. Your body would tell you if something wasn't right. And I highly doubt a medical professional would tell you to do something that would hurt you... kind of goes against their code of ethics..

Sometimes I do..not fully no my stomach, but more on my stomach than my side. I don't put myself there consciously, but I find myself there in the morning. At this point, I have a hard enough time finding a way to sleep comfortably (I have sciatic pain in my hips, so sleeping on my side can make me really uncomfortable) so unless the discomfort is enough to wake me up, I'm gonna sleep however my body lets me.

There are a ton of bad doctors out there.  Some are just not up to par and others are just blatantly careless or out to make money, as witnessed by the pill mill doctors that are popping up everywhere these days.  They're human just like any other profession.

I can't imagine sleeping on my stomach right now.  It's huge!  But I don't think the baby would be hurt.  It's not like you'd be smothering them or anything since they get their oxygen from us.  It just sounds so uncomfortable!

It's kind of a hybrid between stomach and side. I don't sleep completely on my side, but also not completely on my stomach. Last pregnancy my hips hurt so much from sleeping on my side. This time I can actually get some sleep without hurting.

I try sleeping on both of my sides every night but when I wake up to go to the bathroom or in the morning I am always on my back. I asked my doctor yesterday if that was okay and he said as long as I am getting a good night sleep, he doesn't care if I am on my back or my side.

I sleep exactly the same way! And I have been sleeping so much better than I did during my pregnancy with my son when I was hyper vigilant about only sleeping on my left side.

This. And I sleep half on my tummy with the body pillow as well.  I've found myself waking up on my belly a couple of times.

This. If I try to lay on my sides all night I wake up with numb arms and a killer back ache, not to mention I get a heavyness in my chest that makes me feel like I can't breathe. I just prop a pillow under my belly and kind of position myself the in half and half position. And every morning I wake up on my back. Your body will tell you when to change positions. I wouldn't be too concerned as long as you're comfortable.

I am also a half stomach sleeper.  I use the body pillow to help me.  I always only sleep half on my stomach though!
