Horrible headache!!!! Any advice?

Hi ladies,

37w1d, woke up around midnight with what is honestly the worst headache of my life. I haven't had many this pregnancy, although I used to get migraines many years ago. I have an appointment this afternoon (pre-e has been ruled out already because of some blood pressure issues I had about two weeks ago), but does anyone have any tricks to get me through the next few hours? Thank you!

Caffeine, lots of water, tylenol and massage pressure points around your temples and neck.

If it is seriously, the worst headache of your life, I would go to the dr. or ER immediately.  You could be having a stroke.

Thanks, I'll try some of the pressure points massage. Tylenol hasn't been doing a thing, and I swear I've had a whole lake to drink. I'm having some coffee now though, maybe that will make a difference. I appreciate your help- it really makes me feel for those ladies who deal with this often!

I called them, they it should be ok to wait since I haven't had any vision problems or swelling or numbness. Thanks though, it's nice of you to reply, and sometimes it can be so hard to know what's a big deal and what isn't for a ftm!

I'm glad you have an appt. this afternoon. Maybe I am misunderstanding your post, but I don't see how pre-e could have been ruled out a few weeks ago -- you might not have had it a few weeks ago, and you could have it now. Probably you know that and I'm just mis-reading, but just wanted to be sure. I hope you feel better soon.

I have suffered from migraines for years now and they only thing that has helped me during this pregnancy is a dark room, tylenol and a nap.

I had one like that last week and my OB prescribed me some medicine. It was basically a high dose of tylenol with caffeine. I did take extra strength Tylenol and drink coffee to try to help before I called him and it did nothing. Some how the rx worked. It was awesome. Feel better.

Ick, just back from the hospital. It is pre-e related, and my clinic is attached to my hospital, so they sent me over to talk induction. I am going to do another 24hr urine catch but if nothing changes, looks like I might have a baby this weekend!!

Thanks for all the advice.
