Tell me about your 36 week appointment

What did they do? How was it different from prev. appointments? I'm expecting to have weekly appt. after that.

I had a GBS test, blood work, and an ultrasound as well as the typical doctor chat time.  Some Drs don't do ultrasounds, but the GBS test is routine for pregnancies between 35 and 37 weeks.

We have midwives and are doing a home birth. For our 36th week visit we had a home visit, where our midwife came to our home. She did a blood draw, a GBS test, an internal exam, listened to baby and we chatted it up about the usual.

I had the GBS test and they checked my cervix, though they only did that because I'd been having some cramping.

Other than that it was on par with the others.

Everything was the same as usual except I had the GBS. It was super quick and I couldn't really even feel it. My doctor doesn't do internals until 39 weeks unless you request it or you have been having a lot of contractions.

Pee stick, doppler, fundal height measurement and GBS swab. The GBS swab was the only thing different from my other appts.

I haven't had it yet but I know they're going to do the GBS test & an ultrasound [but most women don't get a u/s this late - my office is just unusual]

As the other ladies have said, I'll be having the GBS swab... I also have a non stress test but that is b/c of my diabetes they have me do one weekly just to make sure my little guy is doing alright.
