? For STM's - feeding bibs

DH and I went to register this weekend and we saw this bib: http://www.amazon.com/Tommee-Tippee-Closer-Feeding-Neutral/dp/B00081H75M , sorry I'm bumping from my iPad and can't make it clicky.

Would this bib be useful? Or is it just gimmick-y?

I honestly don't think it would be any different than a regular bib but I'm sure others have used it and loved it.

FWIW, we never used bibs until we started baby food. I would put a thin burp cloth under his chin when feeding him an used that for when burping him. DS wasn't bad about spitting up though.

I never used a bib while bf'ing. Maybe I'm just odd. I mopped her up with a burp cloth/receiving blanket if she got a little messy.

$15 for 2 bibs? No way.

We would use those big plastic bibs when we started feeding solids, but until then there was so much dribble in drool we just did a constant rotation of onsies and cloth bibs. DD also had reflux and would spit up everywhere but on her bib.

Great! Thanks ladies. I think I'll just remove the bibs from the registry altogether. There's lots of other things I need instead. Like diapers, lol!

When you do need feeding bibs, I recommend ones that can't be thrown in the washer.  I think our are Bumkins brand.

Not necessary. But the Tommee Tippee rubber/plastic bibs are the best things ever once you start solids.

I think it's fine as a drool bib but not for eating.

We actually had a couple of packs of those bibs! I liked them... BUT if you get them, do so at BRU. Way cheaper than Amazon, like maybe half the price, and they often have buy 1, get 1 deals.

That said, we needed them because DD was a ridiculous barfer. Like, after every feeding. We tried burping for what seemed like forever and never got anything until she barfed on her own. We always had burp cloths within reach, but sometimes it is a sneak attack!

THEN, around 3 months, she turned into a drool factory. That continued until she got her first tooth around 8 months.

These bibs are thick and absorbent, yes, but once they soak up a lot, they get wet all the way through and LO might end up with a damp shirt anyway. Like PPs said, these should not be used for solids because they will get soaked. We had Bumkins for that. As barf or drool catchers, they work.

Just my .02!
