I'm browsing through dozens of Nameberry lists trying to discover names I've either never seen, or never considered. Trying to add some fresh (to me) names to my list.
Came across Crosby. What do my name nerd friends think about it? Legitimate? Acceptable? No? I get a good grandpa type vibe from it, which I like, but I think it's just a surname turned fn. Nothing much on BTN, except a user submission.
Weigh in here, please! :)
Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.
Bing Crosby.
Very close to Cosby.
I can't get behind it.
One of the characters on Parenthood is Crosby. He's kind of the black sheep/rebel of the family. It's the only reference I have for the name, but I like it.
ETA: I don't know how I forgot about Bing Crosby. I seriously need a nap.
You know, I watch Parenthood, and Crosby is my favorite character. But somehow the name never crossed my mind until just now.
I'm not a fan of the name. It reminds me of a hockey player from the Pittsburgh Penguins with that last name, he is that team's Golden Boy.
It also sounds too much like a last name to me, not a first name.
In no particular order:
Bing Crosby
Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young
The character from Parenthood
Sidney Crosby from the NHL.
It's NMS for FN.
Joy2611: Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. Bing Crosby. Very close to Cosby. I can't get behind it.
All of this.
toothpastechica:as in the last name of bill....dislike.
I think you mean Bill Cosby. ;)
Thats the name of a character off of Parenthood. All I can picture is him. So, my biased opinion doesn't like it.
