For my SIL's shower, we gave nail polish with a little kit that had a nail file, clipper, orange stick, and toe separators.
For my shower, my bridesmaids bought a bunch of my favorite things and had a basket labeled "Mel's Favorite Things" or something like that. When someone won, they got to choose from the basket. It included my favorite gum, candy, candles, nail polish, lotion, magnetic notepad, etc.
