absolutely not!! Edward is a wonderful classic that far precedes Twilight. I just don't get how this keeps getting dubbed a "Twilight" name.

No, I do not think of Twilight at all.

Edward was around loooooooooong before the crappy series and was not affected by the film in terms of popularity. It is a classic name. It has actually LOST popularity.

Ha, well that is the authors doing. Jacob didn't change either place wise (it couldn't, seeing as it has been number 1-2 since the mid-90s, number 1 well before it was written).

I'm not that fortunate with Emmet, Rosalie or Esme though and I have always liked those names :( damn pop culture!

I will admit that I think of Twilight and wonder (silently, of course), if you love the name because of it.  I know it's a classic name and has been around forever, but Twilight love is just so pervasive right now that it taints everyone.

Over time, however, the association will fade and you will just be left with a gorgeous, classic, strong male name.  That's a good thing.

Hahaha I just read this to DH. His face is priceless. DH is Edward so that's what I think of first. I'm not a Twilight fan so, no, I don't think of Twilight.

I asked this question on here a few weeks ago and the general opinion was, "no." It's a great name!

This. Well, if I heard of a sparkly vampire I guess it would remind me. And that's about the extent of what I know of Twilight. I tried watching a movie the other week when it was on FX, the acting and story line were so terrible I couldn't finish.

I don't but I am not a fan of Twilight and have never seen the movies. I think of my godson! Edward is a great classic name and I wouldn't let the Twilight reference deter you from using it!

Nope.  The only "movie" names I would side-eye would be ones like Katniss, Darth Vader, or some other really-obviously-stolen-from-a-book-or-movie name.  Of course, you'll probably get the occasional comment about being a Twilight fan, but who cares?

 Nope, not naming them Edward and Jacob. :p I DON'T like Twilight, which is why I asked if people thought about it. His nn will probably be Ed.
