post nasal drip... TMI

For the past few weeks I have been majorly struggling with the pollen around here, I try to avoid being outside as much as possible, but with two toddlers that doesn't work too well. Last week I got really stuffy, nose congested, cough, sore throat, no fever. I wasn't sleeping well and one night I took a mucinex which really helped. Now I still have a ton of drainage. No stuffy nose or sore throat, just LOTS of mucus and coughing. My stomach muscles are killing from coughing and I'm coughing up A LOT of mucus (sorry TMI), like to the point of choking/gagging at times, it's not infected looking at all. What can I take or do?!?! I'm totally at a loss, I'm the sinus infection queen, but this is something totally different and annoying.

Neilmed sinus rinse is a life saver. Just make sure you keep your head forward and over a sink. It really does help. I suffed from chronic sinusitis.

I have had a gross thick pnd for most of my pregnancy. I often choke and gag on it... nasty. Mine is mostly overnight, but a hot cup of tea when I wake up helps me out a lot.

My doctor told me that I could take Sudafed. I didn't realize it was such a hassle to get! I sent my loving fiance to the drugstore which is the only place it can be purchased and he had to show ID and sign papers!

thanks for all the feedback :-) yet another terrible night of sleep last night! Can't wait for baby to be here... it's a much better excuse for being exhausted!

I've been on Claritin for 6 months for the same reason, OP...it helps some but even it's not 100%... think I'm going to pick up some saline nose spray and see if it helps...I can't wait to breathe out of both nostrils again.
